Horror new details reveal how Jeremy Renner’s snowplough accident unfolded

Authorities have revealed horror new details about how Marvel star Jeremy Renner’s snowplough accident unfolded, which left him with severe injuries.

Actor Jeremy Renner has spoken from his hospital bed and shared an image of himself looking battered and bruised after undergoing multiple surgeries after a snow ploughing accident.

It comes as police reveal new details about how the horror crash happened.

“Thank you all for your kind words. I’m too messed up to type. But I send love to you all,” he wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday.

It’s the first time he has spoken since he suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries when a snow plough ran over his leg, in Reno, Nevada causing him to lose a “tremendous” amount of blood.

Many Hollywood A-listers commented on the post, including fellow Marvel star and Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth: “Speedy recovery buddy. Sending love your way!”

“Continued prayers your way brutha,” said Chris Pratt, of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.

Renner’s North Country co-star Michelle Monaghan said: “Damn buddy. Good to see that face of yours. Wishing you nothing but love and a steady and safe recovery”.

Heidi Klum wished Renner a “Speedy recovery”.

It comes as Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam revealed on Tuesday afternoon (local time) that the star had been helping a family member with a car that was stick in the snow.

The 51-year-old got out of the snow plough to speak with the family member when the machine started to roll, he said.

Renner attempted to get back into the snow plough, which is when he was run over.

“In an effort to stop the rolling PistenBully, Mr Renner attempt[ed] to get back into the driver’s seat of the PistenBully. Based on our investigation, it’s at this point that Mr Renner [was] run over,” the sheriff said.

Sheriff Balaam noted that Renner was not believed “to be impaired at all” during the “tragic accident” and foul play is not suspected.

According to TMZ, the snow machine’s extensive safety features failed and should not have rolled over Renner.

The 51-year-old’s publicist said on Monday night that the Marvel star was in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition.

“Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City mayor, Hillary Schieve, and the Carano and Murdock families,” his publicist said in a statement.

“They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.

TMZ has revealed the 51-year-old star was flown from his Lake Tahoe ranch home to hospital after being injured on New Year’s Day while ploughing snow in one of his industrial vehicles.

New video posted on the TMZ site shows Renner’s helicopter flight to a hospital shortly after his horrific accident, which caused him to lose a serious amount of blood.

The video, obtained by TMZ, starts right after the two-time Oscar-nominee was loaded on to the chopper Sunday morning, local time.

Eyewitnesses said Renner was ploughing the road near his Tahoe home so his family could get out after a massive New Year’s Eve storm.

According to a neighbour, the Snow Cat plough accidentally ran over one of Renner’s legs, and he was losing a lot of blood from the injury. Another neighbour, reportedly a doctor, was able to put a tourniquet on his leg until paramedics arrived.

A spokesman for Renner, a two-time Academy Award nominee for his roles in the The Hurt Locker and The Town, confirmed the news to the Hollywood Reporter.

“We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while ploughing snow earlier today,” he said.

The spokesman said he is with his family and “receiving excellent care”.

The American Hustle star owns a number of snow ploughs he uses to clear his long private driveway as well as roads and paths in his area.

He tweeted about the huge amount of snow at his US ranch last month, writing: “Lake Tahoe snowfall is no joke.”

Pictures posted on social media show Renner standing in snow drifts higher than his head.

Renner plays the superhero Clint Barton, or Hawkeye, in multiple Marvel movies and Disney+ television shows.

He currently stars in the Paramount+ series Mayor of Kingstown. The second season of the show is set to begin airing on January 15.
