EVERYBODY is in love with the brand new Spider-Man — but more than their love for the actual movie, there’s also thousands of fans that are in love with its star Tom Holland.

The British actor, who plays a 15-year-old Spider-Man in the movie, has sparked a frenzy on google as fans walk out of the cinema frantically searching how old he actually is.

Thousands of Spider-Man: Homecoming fans have taken to Twitter to express their momentary stress over falling in love with a 15-year-old before tweeting their relief at realising the actor is in fact 21 — and the responses are hilarious.

Like literally every other actor who plays a high-schooler in Hollywood, Holland is six years older than his character.

But when you compare Holland’s age gap to other actors who have starred in high school movies, the Spider-Man star is one of the most realistic.

He’s also the closest in age when compared to former Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire who were playing high-schoolers from the ages of 29 and 27 respectively.

In Mean Girls, a then-25-year-old Rachel McAdams played 17-year-old Regina George.

And in Grease, Stockard Channing was 34-years-old when she sung her way as the high school senior Betty Rizzo. Olivia Newton-John also had a huge gap, playing the innocent Sandy at the age of 30.

Pitch Perfect is another prime example of actors giving us unrealistic expectations of what it means to play certain ages with Rebel Wilson and Anna Kendrick both playing first year college students at the ages of 32 and 27 respectively.
