One of Sydney’s favourite socialite couples is expecting a baby girl in March, and model mum Simone Holtznagel is relishing the chance to dress her bump.

Sydney socialites Simone Holtznagel and Jono Castano are in full baby preparation mode.
The Australian fashion model and Acero gym founder said they were expecting their first baby girl on March 26.
This summer, the pair have swapped star-studded soirees for low-key family time, spending New Year’s Eve with best friends and Castano’s ex-wife and business partner Amy Castano and her partner footballer Aaron Evans.
“We started the all-pink baby room last week, did the wallpaper and got all the gadgets. I didn’t know there was that much baby stuff,” Castano said. “We’re so excited.”
“We’re still deciding on a name,” the celebrity personal trainer added.
They have a short list of names and will wait on their baby’s arrival to choose one.
Superstar and fashion icon Rihanna’s pregnancy style in 2022 took maternity wear from frumpy to being all about showing off the bump, something Holtznagel has been doing.
Speaking to Vogue’s Chioma Nnadi, Rihanna said that highlighting the bump was always the plan. “I’m hoping that we were able to redefine what’s considered ‘decent’ for pregnant women,” she said. “This time should feel celebratory. Because why should you be hiding your pregnancy?”
Holtznagel, who has continued wearing all her favourite Australian designers, including Alex Perry, Bec + Bridge, and Shona Joy, said: “I’ve always embraced my body no matter what size I have been, and during pregnancy has been no exception.
“Pregnant style icons like Rihanna have broken down barriers when it comes to what you can wear while pregnant — if you have the confidence.
“I’ve worked with my stylist Lana Wilkinson for a few years now and she is always a very big help.”
Meanwhile Castano has taken no time off work, with January seeing gym attendance spiking by 30 per cent and his biography, It Starts Today, due for release this month.
“My advice for anyone starting a New Year fitness regimen is don’t make your goals insane,” he said.
“Look at it like, ‘I’m going to go to the gym … when I don’t normally go at all’.”
GROUNDS FOUNDER’S MAGICAL WEDDING
The owner of one of Sydney’s most famous cafes and restaurants brought in the New Year by tying the knot in incredible fashion, sparing no expense for a lavish fairytale-themed ceremony.
The Grounds of Alexandria’s founder Ramzey Choker married partner Therese Moussa on the stroke of midnight, as a sky lit up by their own extraordinary fireworks display rained overhead.
Choker’s cafe and restaurant at Alexandria has gained a cult following, particularly with Instagram lovers, for its themed displays.
And so it was little surprise that for his own special day, there was also a theme: “At the Stroke of Midnight”.
An Instagram post from Ms Moussa giving guests an insight into the nuptials read: “Once upon a time, in the enchanting lands of The Grounds of Alexandria, a tale of love and creativity unfolded. Join Ramzey and Therese this New Year’s Eve as they embark on their extraordinary ride together. Among the magic of the departing year, we gather to witness the beginning of their forever.”
The wedding began at the State Theatre on Market St in Sydney’s CBD, with a circus ringleader as celebrant, before moving on to Fox Studios at Moore Park, where the pair tied the knot inside a circus tent as the New Year rang in.
