Michael Clarke has done nothing to hose down news of his budding new romance.
Within hours of The Daily Telegraph breaking word of Clarke’s romance with eastern suburbs socialite Rique Miroshnik, the pair were snapped having lunch together in Sydney’s Double Bay.
Wearing a casual over-size black ensemble, the former Australian cricket captain appeared in good spirits as he arrived by Uber at Neil Perry’s Margaret restaurant about 3pm for a late Friday lunch.
Property developer and close mate Max Sheperd was also in attendance.
Clarke and Miroshnik sat next to each other during what is understood to have been a birthday lunch for one of the group that has been friends for more than a decade.
On Friday, The Telegraph revealed Clarke, 42, had been spending time with Ms Miroshnik, the ex-wife of prominent eastern suburbs cosmetic and plastic surgeon, Michael Miroshnik.
She has two children with her ex, while Clarke has a daughter with his ex-wife Kyly Clarke.
Miroshnik, whose maiden name is Sharman, is a former beauty queen and competed in Miss Universe Australia in 2010, alongside that year’s winner, Jesinta Franklin.
Friends close to Clarke insist he is “single but dating” and not involved in anything “too serious”.
Miroshnik and the rest of Clarke’s lunch companions are all believed to have attended a party for his recent birthday on board a luxury superyacht on Sydney Harbour.
It comes months after Clarke was embroiled in a cheating scandal, which he denied at the time, with now ex-girlfriend, Jade Yarbrough.
Footage of a spectacular Noosa street blow up emerged in January of Clarke and Yarbrough arguing, when she accused him of cheating with his previous ex, fashionista Pip Edwards.
Clarke has always denied that he cheated.
Yarbrough’s sister Jasmine, and brother-in-law, Today co-host Karl Stefanovic, were also involved in the spat.
An onlooker released expletive-ridden footage of the incident, where Clarke could be seen shirtless and limping in a park, surrounded by a group trying to calm the situation.
At the time, Clarke said: “I’m absolutely gutted I’ve put people I hold in the highest regard in this position.
“My actions in the lead-up to this altercation were nothing short of shameful and regrettable.
“I am shattered that because of my actions I’ve drawn women of class and integrity, and my mates, into this situation. I own this fully and am the only one at fault.”
Yarbrough is also understood to have moved on, and has been seen with Australian actor, Travis Fimmel, of Vikings fame.
