Matt Shirvington was just another dad on the sideline on Saturday, but he is just about to take on one of Australia’s biggest TV jobs.

A seemingly relaxed Shirvington was spotted spending time with family ahead of his anticipated announcement as Sunrise TV host.

The famed athlete is rumoured to replace David Koch, who has hosted the show for 21 years. Kochie and Shirvington are expected to announce the change together on Monday’s show.

On Saturday morning, a laid-back Shirvo was seen at the soccer game with his family, looking on proudly as he watched his son Lincoln kick the ball.

Koch shocked viewers last week when he announced he was retiring from the top job. Koch, now 67, was a prominent finance journalist before he took on the role as host.
