Casting auditions have begun for reality TV show Made in Bondi — and Sunday Confidential can reveal who casting agents are keen on.
Model Montana Cox, designer Sophie Coote, suitcase company founder Aidan Walsh, pilates queen Bernadette Fahey, and Bondi’s hottest couple Andy El-Bayeh and Harriet Williams, who had a $2m wedding last year, are among those being pursued by producers of the Channel 7 program.
And judging by what Confidential knows about these personalities, there will be an endless amount of opulence, drama, private jets, lavish parties and fabulous outfits.
The thing is, producers want them more than the stars want to be on the show.
“Most of these people don’t really see the benefit of starring on the show,” one insider said.
“They already have money and notoriety, and they saw what a flop (Netflix series) Byron Baes was, so are hesitant.
“It will be interesting to see who they end up with because they’re really on the hunt for the Bondi A-list.”
In what’s been dubbed the country’s answer to British hit Made in Chelsea, Australia’s most famous beach and its genetically blessed and wealthy residents will star in the reality show.
And it could put some of the above names on the radar globally.
Now in its 26th series, Made in Chelsea has delivered stardom to several cast members who have made international headlines after letting the cameras catch a glimpse of their glamorous private lives.
Seven has teamed up with Channel 4 to commission Made in Bondi, which “promises to follow the lives and loves of young people” who live in Bondi, where the median cost of a two-bedroom apartment is $1.57m and a three-bedroom house at least $3.7m.
Seven is promising drama and “a front-row seat to jaw-dropping parties, breathtaking fashion and sizzling romances”.
“From trendy bars to luxurious harbourside mansions, this group of young socialites will navigate the interconnected web of relationships that define their lives,” Seven announced at its 2024 programming launch in Darling Harbour this year.
