Singer Lizzo has stripped down to a two-piece bikini to show off her dramatic weight loss in a new video.
The singer modelled a number of different underwear and shapewear outfits for a video promoting her brand, Yitty.
An outspoken body positivity advocate, Lizzo recently shared publicly that she’d hit her “goal weight,” after embarking on a health kick at the start of 2024.
“Today when I stepped on my scale, I reached my weight release goal. I haven’t seen this number since 2014,” she shared on social media.
She continued, “Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to. Time for new goals!”
An accompanying graphic showed that she had lowered her body mass index (BMI) by 10.5 and had lost 16% of her body fat since starting her weight loss journey in January of last year.
In a recent TikTok live, Lizzo went into detail about her eating habits and how she stays in “calorie deficit” while still enjoying sweet treats.
“I do something sweet. It’s gotta be with some sort of like carb. I’ll have like almond butter and toast. So, everybody’s body is different. Find out what works for you,” she told her followers.
And despite the rumours – and many a sudden celeb slim-down coinciding with the drug’s rise in popularity – Lizzo has insisted that Ozempic had nothing to do with her weight loss journey.
“When you finally get Ozempic allegations after 5 months of weight training and calorie deficit,” she wrote on social media last year.
She said at the time that rumours she’d been using the drug were “like a reward” after spending so much time working out and improving her diet.
Lizzo might be in the best shape of her life, but her career fortunes have taken a hit in recent months, with her new music failing to make an impact.
Despite arriving with glossy, big budget music videos, recent singles Love in Real Life and Still Bad have failed to chart anywhere – a brutal result for an artist who enjoyed a string of multi-platinum smashes after her breakthrough single Truth Hurts belatedly took off in 2019, two years after its original release.
