Karl Stefanovic has revealed his whole family contracted Covid-19 over the Christmas holiday break.
The 47-year-old journalist returned to Today hosting duties alongside Ally Langdon this morning, where he claimed his family got the virus in early January, adding it was “pretty intense in parts”.
“I am a little croaky. The last couple of weeks, going back to January 3 or 4, the whole family tested positive. The whole family went down with Covid-19,” Karl shared with his co-hosts and viewers.
“It was a bit awful to tell you the truth at times, but we’re all clear now.
“We got through the whole thing, and look, they say it’s mild, but it’s pretty intense in parts.”

Stefanovic later detailed his symptoms, revealing his 18-month-old daughter Harper, whom he shares with his wife Jasmine, had it “quite severe”.
“It started out and it feels like a bad cold, and it starts in the throat, then it goes to the lungs. I’m clear now, but it’s still, the residual effects of it are there,” he said.
“We were most worried about little Harper. She is only 18 months old and also my daughter, Ava. They had it in a quite severe way initially but then they got over it really quickly, and then Jas and I both got it and I was much worse. She said because I’m a man.
“But I got all of the symptoms. You were just down for three or four days then it keeps on going on and on. Dealing with it psychologically is the hardest thing I reckon.”
He assured viewers he was given the all-clear to head back to work on the Channel 9 breakfast show after undergoing rapid antigen tests.“We’re all clear and thankfully for you I’m back,” he told viewers.
The TV anchor, his wife, Jasmine, 37, and their one-year-old daughter Harper spent Christmas on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, before they enjoyed a holiday in Port Stephens earlier this year.
Over the weekend, the family enjoyed a weekend away at a property near Bowral.
