As the mystery remains about who will host Melbourne’s Triple M breakfast next year, Kate Langbroek has not ruled out teaming up with comedy great Dave Hughes once more.

Langbroek, who was taking sneaky sips from a mini bottle of Firewater whiskey to keep up her stamina on the red carpet at the Logie Awards, said she loved doing radio but had “not formally” been approached to return to the medium “well, not at this point.”

“It depends,” Langbroek said.

“It is like we are in a relationship, is it a serious relationship, are they going to put a ring on it? Who knows?

“I love radio, but I am loving what I am doing at the moment (a podcast and TV). It is very enjoyable, but I would never rule out radio.”

Asked if she would like to work with Hughes again, the pair has had tremendous success as a radio team on KIIS, the Hit Network and Nova, she teased “Dave Hughes? I have heard of that name.”

For the past three years Hughes was part of the Hughesy, Ed and Erin show, with Ed Kavalee and Erin Molan, on Sydney’s 2Day FM which was axed earlier this month.

“I do always think an organic genesis is a nice way to come to any project really rather than some people try to make Frankenstein in a lab and it does not work,” Langbroek said.
