Melbourne influencer and former Big Brother star Tully Smyth has revealed she’s separated from her partner after trying to make a long distance relationship work.
Smyth shared a life update on Tuesday that she and Daniel Parisi, who moved to the US for his dream job, had split a few weeks ago after two years together.
Smyth asked her followers not to message because she couldn’t deal with the “influx of sadness” on her behalf.
“Not something I ever imagined writing let alone sharing on here but you guys have been with me for over a decade now … so many of you have grown up alongside me,’’ Smyth began her Instagram story post.
“I’ve spoken a lot recently about life and how it doesn’t always go according to plan or the way we had hoped.”
Smyth said it had been a tough decision and they walk away with love.
She urged people to remember there are good guys out there.
“Long distance relationships are impossibly difficult,’’ she wrote.
“Sometimes you can love someone with every fiber (sic) of your being and it still just doesn’t work out the way you so desperately wanted it to.
“I will always be his biggest cheerleader, his loudest hype girl and his best friend.
“We walk away with so much love, empathy, understanding, support and an immense amount of respect for one another.
“I know our relationship gave you so many of you guys hope.
“And I want to say that … there is still so much to be hopeful for. There are good guys out there. Daniel is proof of that.
“Whilst I appreciate your support beyond belief, I just need a bit of peace and quiet in my DM’s right now. It’s been a big few months.
“I will be okay. He will be okay.
“We’re both going to be okay, we just need some time to heal. And if you’re reading this and your heart hurts — you will be okay too. One day at a time.”
Smyth recently hit the headlines after announcing she’s freezing her eggs in a partnership with Monash IVF.
She copped some backlash for the move, but believes promoting her egg freezing journey is vitally important, describing it as the most authentic partnership she’s ever had.
“I would much rather influence someone to go and get their fertility checked than go and buy this blush,” she said.
“I wish I’d done this at 30. I’m 36 this year and that’s my current biggest regret and that’s why it’s so important to me to be sharing my story.”
