As Taylor Swift prepares to embark on an epic 14,000km detour from Tokyo to Las Vegas to see her boyfriend play at the Super Bowl, one airline has hopped on board the hype.

Pop superstar Taylor Swift has a wild week of crisscrossing the globe coming up after her boyfriend Travis Kelce qualified for the Super Bowl.

And American Airlines has got on board the hype, naming flights between Kansas City and Las Vegas in honour of the pair.

As Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs stormed to victory on Sunday night US time, Swift joined her beau on-field to celebrate.

Cameras caught the romantic on-field moment the Chiefs star greeted the “Blank Space” songstress with a loving “what’s up, sweetie?” before they wrapped each other in a passionate embrace.

The pair then celebrated Kansas City’s win with romantic kisses as Kelce repeatedly told his girlfriend, “How about that one?!”

Ahead of the NFL showdown – and Swift’s mad dash to make the game between performances – American Airlines has named a handful flights after the superstar couple.

A handful of direct flights have been added between Kansas City and Las Vegas to help fans without private jets get to the game.

Flight AA1989, named after Taylor Swift’s best-selling album (and her year of birth), is scheduled to depart from Kansas City on February 10, arriving in Las Vegas before the Super Bowl begins.

For those returning to Kansas City after the game, Flight AA87 – named after Kelce’s jersey number – will depart Las Vegas on February 12.

The airline stated in a press release: “You could say that after tonight’s games, we are in our football era”, a reference to Swift’s international Eras Tour.

“To our customers who are huge sports fans, look what you made us do,” American Airlines stated, another Swift song reference.

Flight 15, named after quarterback Patrick Mahomes, will also be available, along with Flight 1521, combining the numbers of Mahomes and safety Mike Edwards.

It comes as Swift will have to take advantage of the International Date Line in order to cheer on Kelce during the game.

With her final Tokyo show on the evening of February 10 and the Super Bowl game on February 11, the timing will be tight.

After her concert finishes in Tokyo, Swift will fly to Las Vegas to support the Chiefs in the Super Bowl LVIII, before heading back to Eurasia for the Australian part of her Eras Tour.

ESPN presenter Ian Rapoport said thanks to Tokyo being “17 hours ahead … Taylor Swift could still get to the Super Bowl about 7 or 8pm Saturday night, just in time to party.”

He estimated the flight from Tokyo to Las Vegas would take Swift around 12 hours.

But that won’t be the end of her hectic week – only a few days later she’ll be flying down under for the Aussie segment of her world tour, beginning in Melbourne on February 16.

This cross-Pacific detour back to the US adds an extra 14,000km of flying for Swift, and a whole lot of jet lag.

Swift has attended all of her boyfriend Kelce’s post-season games since wrapping up the first international leg of her Eras Tour.

This is the Chiefs fourth Super Bowl in five seasons, and they are chasing their fourth title.

After three shows in Melbourne and four in Sydney, Swift will be finishing up the Australian part of her tour on February 26.

However, there’s no sign of Swift slowing down, as she’ll be jetting across to Singapore before heading across the globe to perform in Europe for the rest of her Eras Tour.
