Her sister-in-law courted controversy recently for her connection to fallen TV star Andrew O’Keefe, but model Georgia Fowler drew attention at the Cannes film festival for very different reasons.
Fans of the New Zealand-born Victoria Secret model did double takes at the large plaster pasted to the back of her arm as she perused the red carpet.
Ms Fowler, 32, who is married to Sydney’s widely successful Fishbowl founder Nathan Dalah, struck a glamorous figure at the premiere of The History of Sound in a sequinned figure-hugging dress displaying not an ounce of worry, if there was one.
Her husband’s family revealed they have been concerned for the wellbeing of Elisha Dalah, 38, an associate and drug dealer of former Deal or No Deal star Andrew O’Keefe, who has long struggled with addiction.
Details of Ms Dalah’s friendship with Mr O’Keefe emerged in court recently when she detailed witnessing him collapse from an overdose on heroin she had given him at his Vaucluse apartment in the eastern suburbs, and performing frenzied CPR that saved his life.
According to documents tendered at Downing Centre Local Court, Ms Dalah, 38, had administered an opioid reversal drug Narcan to the embattled star, before clearing the vomit from his nose and mouth, giving him mouth-to-mouth and then beginning chest compressions at his Sydney unit on September 14.
When paramedics arrived, she was still performing CPR and exclaimed to police: “This is my fault.”
Ms Dalah, who lives in the annexe of her parents’ $17 million home in Point Piper has since been attending rehab daily.
She was convicted of the charge of supplying a small amount of heroin but escaped a prison sentence in April.
Her father, Michael, who is considered one of Australia’s largest private property owners, having acquired commercial and residential properties nationally, has been standing by his daughter.
“She got a big lesson from it (O’Keefe) and hopefully she is on the mend,” said Mr Dalah, a former rag trader and ex-co-owner of ex-Elizabeth Bay Marina.
“It’s a very sad illness and what happened has had an impact, and she’s learning life must go on.
“As a family we hope and pray she is on the mend, that she can redeem herself from this terrible disease. She has good friends,” he said.
“It has been a big worry for all our family, what can you do?
“If money could buy her happiness I would give her every penny I have — I would give her everything.”
