Comments about Donald Trump during a Sydney concert prompted actor George Clooney to order Jack Black to break up his own band, a web series creator has alleged in an interview with Hunter Biden.
Creator of YouTube channels All Gas No Breaks and Channel 5, Andrew Callaghan, published a three-hour interview with former president Joe Biden’s controversial son on Monday evening.
“My only really famous Hollywood friend is actor Jack Black, from School of Rock,” Callaghan said two-and-a-half hours into his interview with Hunter Biden.
“We used to be neighbours in (Los Angeles neighbourhood) Los Feliz.”
“(Jack Black’s band) Tenacious D did a concert in Sydney, Australia, you know this is a day after they tried to assassinate Trump in Butler, PA.”
The remainder of band Tenacious D’s world tour was cancelled after a controversial comment from Black’s bandmate Kyle Gass just hours after US President Donald Trump was shot in the ear at a rally in Pennsylvania.
After being presented with a birthday cake on stage at the International Convention Centre in Sydney on July 14, 2024, Gass made a wish that they “don’t miss Trump next time” before blowing out the candles.
Callaghan claimed that following the concert “George Clooney is blowing (Jack Black’s) phone up being like ‘if you don’t kick your band member out of the band and like publicly denounce this guy … Like I don’t know what the consequences were, but it was kind of like ‘you’re out’. Out of what, we don’t know.”
“And so his hand was basically forced to be like ‘oh sorry my band member has serious mental health problems. We’re breaking up the band for now. The tour is cancelled’,” Callaghan alleged.
During the interview, Callaghan and Hunter Biden began talking about Clooney in reference to an op-ed the actor wrote in the New York Times ahead of the US election calling for Joe Biden to step down as Democratic nominee.
In response to the op-ed and Callaghan’s allegations, Hunter released a verbal spray against the veteran actor.
“F**k him. F**k him, f**k him and everybody around him,” he said.
“I don’t have to be fucking nice. Number one, I agree with Quentin Tarantino. F**king George Clooney is not a f**king actor.
“I don’t know what he is, he’s a brand.”
“What right do you have to step on a man who’s given 52 years of his f**king life to the service of this country and decide that you, George Clooney, are going to take out basically a full-page ad in the f**king New York Times to undermine the president,” he said.
