In a bizarre “fiasco”, 2GB radio show host Ray Hadley stormed off his Monday morning show after it was plagued by technical issues and miscommunication.

Broadcasting from Queensland, Hadley repeatedly apologised to listeners who tuned in yesterday after the show faced multiple technical issues including interruptions and long, awkward silences.

The continuous issues frustrated Hadley who was supposed to be presenting a special broadcast from Brisbane’s Ekka agricultural show.

“All I can do is apologise most sincerely for the first 30 minutes of the program which has been a complete and utter fiasco,” Hadley said.

“I do apologise, I’m broadcasting from the Ekka which I didn’t get a chance to tell you ‘cos nothing seemed to work.

“I hope it is currently working and we’ll see what happens from hereon in but I do apologise most sincerely to network stations and the listeners on 2GB and 4BC for basically what has been a fiasco for 30 minutes, and obviously we’ll be having some discussions at midday about the fiasco I’ve presided over.”

After enduring the “fiasco for 30 minutes”, Hadley finally cut the show short by walking out telling listeners that “there was no point” in continuing the show and that he would be replaced by presenter Mark Levy in Sydney.

“While I’m on air there are people here trying to fix things, unsuccessfully, I might add and there’s no point as we do from time to time get through three hours of this,” Hadley said.

Hadley briefly returned to air only to tell listeners sharply, “look we are going to take another break”.

Amid the broadcasting chaos, Hadley proclaimed during his segment that he would no longer be presenting the Brisbane Ekka show on the grounds and instead would return “back to Sydney”.

“I’ll be broadcasting from the studio in Sydney tomorrow given the problems we’ve encountered this morning,” he told listeners on Monday.

However, Nine Entertainment has rejected Hadley’s statement, saying to The Australian that Hadley would remain in Queensland and broadcast as scheduled for the rest of the week despite earlier technical issues.

Listeners can tune in to Hadley’s show on 2GB, Brisbane’s 4BC and other network stations across Australia.
