Elsa Pataky asks for more horse riding scenes ahead of Magic Millions

She’s been newly named as the star power promoting the Magic Millions— but actress Elsa Pataky’s love of horses has also led her to make a strange request for her next big flick.

Interceptor star Elsa Pataky loves horses so much she is telling director Matthew Reilly to write some riding scenes into the hotly-anticipated sequel.

Pataky, 46, has just been announced as the show jumping ambassador for the Magic Millions carnival on the Gold Coast in January.

“We need a scene with horses, we have to do that. It will be amazing,” she said.

Pataky, who has three children with husband Thor actor Chris Hemsworth, is also working on another movie in Australia with equestrian scenes.

“I can’t say much but it involves horses in a couple of scenes,” she said. “It is amazing.”

It comes as horse-mad movie star Pataky has landed her “dream job” as the global face of Magic Millions showjumping.

“Are you crazy?” Pataky said when offered the role.

“I was like, ‘I will pay you to go. I will buy the ticket’.”

The Magic Millions has increased the prize money pool to $1 million to make the showjumping event on the Gold Coast in January the richest in Australia.

“It’s my dream job. I am really proud to be the ambassador of something like that, which I am so passionate about,” Pataky, 46, said.

The Interceptor star has three children with Thor superstar Chris Hemsworth and was already introducing them to the equestrian world before she was offered the role.

She took daughter India, 10, to Gatcombe in the UK last weekend to watch the horse trials and meet fellow Magic Millions ambassadors Zara Tindall, the Queen’s granddaughter, and Queensland’s winning State of Origin coach Billy Slater.

Pataky and her daughter spend most weekends on the showjumping circuit around their Byron Bay home, where the biggest challenge is reversing the horse float.

“It makes me really nervous every time somebody’s watching,” she said. “I know it’s gonna be a few tries to get it right.”

Magic Millions co-owner Katie Page said Elsa was the perfect Magic Millions ambassador for showjumping.

“She shares our love of the horse and equestrian sport,” Ms Page said. “Her particular passion for showjumping made her the perfect advocate and authentic partner for our showjumping event in January.

“It is perfect timing that Elsa joins us as global ambassador for showjumping for the Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo and Showjumping in 2023 — the year the Magic Millions showjumping competition offers a prize pool of $1 million.

“We will love working together to build the equine industry and the sport of showjumping in Australia.”
