Elizabeth and Damian Hurley to attend 2024 Melbourne Cup Carnival
Shane Warne’s former fiancee Liz Hurley will be trackside at the 2024 Melbourne Cup Carnival with her son, Damian, in her first return to Melbourne since the Spin King’s tragic death.

One of the world’s most glamorous women, Elizabeth Hurley, is attending the Melbourne Cup Carnival as a special guest.
The UK-based model and actor who was last in town 11 years ago with her then fiance, late cricket great Shane Warne, will be trackside at Flemington with her 22-year-old son Damian Hurley.
The famous duo will attend Lexus Melbourne Cup Day and Crown Oaks Day, as guests in the VRC Committee Room and Flemington’s famous Birdcage enclosure.
“Damian and I are thrilled to be coming to Australia to celebrate the Melbourne Cup Carnival with the Victoria Racing Club,” Ms Hurley said.
“Watched by millions across the globe, we are looking forward to being at Flemington to experience the event first-hand and hopefully find a winner along the way. We are also very much looking forward to all the fashion and entertainment that makes this carnival truly unique.”
Elizabeth and Damian, a model and actor, will show their support for the Australian fashion industry by being part of the iconic Fashions on the Field in The Park to announce the overall winners of both the Best Suited and Best Dressed competitions.
They will also be part of the post-Lexus Melbourne Cup Day celebrations at the Crown Oaks Club lunch, held annually on the day between Cup and Oaks Day, and will join the event hosts on stage at Crown to talk about their Cup Week experiences.
They are also expected to catch up with Warne’s children, Brooke, Jackson and Summer, throughout the week in Melbourne.
VRC Chairman Neil Wilson said the club was delighted to welcome the globally renowned figures to Flemington.
“We are honoured Elizabeth and Damian have accepted our invitation to attend Cup Week and celebrate the world class racing and enjoy this year’s edition of Australia’s original major event with the Victoria Racing Club,” Mr Wilson said.
“Regarded as one of the world’s most vibrant horse racing events, the Melbourne Cup Carnival, headlined by the Lexus Melbourne Cup, is a uniquely Australian celebration of sport, fashion, food, entertainment, community and culture and the Victoria Racing Club looks forward to sharing the occasion with Elizabeth and Damian.”
Hurley, 59, dated Warne for three years before their engagement ended but the pair remained close and she openly mourned his sudden passing two years ago.
She is well known for iconic film role in Austin Powers, also for her bikini designs and fashion choices, particularly the Versace safety pin dress she wore while dating actor Hugh Grant in 1994.
The Melbourne Cup Carnival kicks off with Penfolds Victoria Derby Day on November 2.
