Dame Edna Everage and her “manager” Barry Humphries have parted ways.
“He and I are no longer,” Dame Edna said.
“He has let me down. He has disappointed me.”
She announced she was coming out of retirement for a new Australian tour, My Gorgeous Life, later this year after Humphries’ name was stripped from the Melbourne Comedy Festival’s award last month.

HUMPHRIES CUT DOWN BY COMEDY’S GRIM REAPERS
Humphries’ comments on transgenderism as “a fashion” and reassignment surgery as “self-mutilation’’ were cited as major reasons for the removal of his name from the Barry Award.
But there were no signs of distress about the rejection when Dame Edna this week
announced Part 2 of her farewell tour, which she hopes will be followed by Part 3 next year and Part 4 the year after.
“You can book now for Part 10 when I’ll be over 100,” she said. “Goodness. I’m such a tease.”
Dame Edna confessed she missed the Yarra River — “Melbourne’s equivalent of Sydney Harbour” — from her home base in London and was keen to perform for her new-found Korean fans.
“I never thought I’d appeal to Koreans but apparently the Korean population of Footscray adores me and they’re welcome,” she said.
My Gorgeous Life, State Theatre, Arts Centre Melbourne, October 23-25. Tickets on sale Thursday. See: tegdainty.com
