Dale Thomas has picked up a new hosting job that will indulge another of his sporting passions.
After missing out on a breakfast radio gig on Triple M, Thomas is sinking birdies on television with the former Collingwood and Carlton star to have his own golf show called Teeing Off with Daisy Thomas.
The Magpies premiership hero is excited to share his other great love on Channel 7 soon.
He had a hit before LIV Golf gets underway in Adelaide, playing in the Pro Am at The Grange alongside other celebrities on Thursday.
“Golf gave me the perfect amount of competitiveness I missed once retiring,’’ Thomas said.
“The constant battle of wanting to get better versus being terrible, is something most golfers can relate to. One day you’re contemplating the road to the PGA tour and the next you are looking at Facebook marketplace to offload your clubs.”
Thomas, who is commentating on footy for Channel 7 and Triple M, and is currently filling in on The Rush Hour with Billy Brownless, said the Seven show would be for the average golfer — and hacker.
“My aim and hopes for the show, is to bring and showcase some great Australian golfing destinations and courses in hopes that anyone watching gets the itch to put it in the ‘golf group chat’,’’ Thomas said.
“Yes, we all have one to get a trip or an adventure going … and also laughing at me clunking shots, throwing clubs, swearing and in between the odd good shot!”
