SYDNEY is opening up, summer is here and it is time to shake off lockdowns and restrictions and enjoy the best our great city has to offer.
There is a silly season full of events on the agenda, but while life is returning to our city, our travel, tourism and hospitality sectors are still playing catch-up and more action is needed to keep them thriving into the future.
To celebrate our new freedoms, The Daily Telegraph and The Star, as a supporter of the Open Up campaign, are giving readers the chance to spend a luxury summer weekend in Sydney with someone they care about.
The past couple of years have been tough so we are asking entrants to tell us who they want to treat to a one of five great staycations on January 21.
The prize includes a return limousine transfer from the winning entrant’s home to The Star for a one-night stay at the Darling Suite.
On arrival, you will step onto a Benetti boat for a two-hour cruise with music, drinks and canapes then return to The Star for dinner for two at BLACK Bar and Grill and A reserve seats to Hamilton the Musical at the Sydney Lyric Theatre.

Notification of Prize Winner/s and claiming a Prize | Prize winner will be contacted by email and phone within two business days of judging occurring. Eligible Entrants will need to ensure that contact details are up to date and accurate. On notification, a Prize winner will be provided with details on how to claim the prize. If the Prize winner cannot be contacted within 14 days of judging occurring, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify the Entry. All or any part of the Prize not claimed or used by a Prize winner shall be forfeited by that person. The Prize Winner must produce Valid ID that is valid and acceptable to the Promoter or a representative of the Promoter in order to collect the Prize. Valid ID means:

Terms and conditions
- These terms and conditions are the terms and conditions of the Promotion described above.
- The above Particulars and information on how to enter and prizes form part of these conditions. These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time in accordance with state regulations.
- Entry is only open to Eligible Entrants as described in the Particulars. Eligibility requirements must be met at the time of entry and at the time of determining prize winners.
- Entry will only be accepted during the Promotional Period which starts and ends as specified in the Particulars (Promotional Period).
- All valid entries received during the Promotional Period will be entered into the Promotion. Incomplete or incomprehensible entries will be invalid.
- Entries are limited to one per person, per day during the Promotional Period.
- Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries. All entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt by the Promoter and not at the time of sending by the entrant.
- If an Entry is deemed by the Promoter to breach these Terms and Conditions, that Entry (or at the Promoter's discretion) may be voided. The Promoter may, at any time, require an entrant to produce documentation to establish to the Promoter's satisfaction the validity of that person's Entry (including documentation establishing your identity, age and place of residence).
- Prizes cannot be transferred, redeemed or exchanged for cash or other goods or services. No responsibility or liability is accepted for any variation in the value of the prize/s. If a prize is unavailable then, subject to state regulation, Promoter may substitute prize with a different item of equal or greater value. Prizes may be subject to additional terms and conditions of the supplier of that prize.
- To the extent permitted by law, no responsibility is accepted by Promoter for any loss, damage, or injury incurred from entering the Promotion or taking up the prize and Promoter accepts no responsibility for any damage delay or loss of prize in transit.
- The prize value is correct as at the date of preparing these Terms and Conditions and includes any applicable GST. The Promoter is not responsible for any change in prize value.
- The Promoter is not responsible for any tax implications arising from you winning a prize. Entrant's should seek independent financial advice. If for GST purposes this Promotion results in any supply being made for non-monetary consideration, you must follow the Australian Taxation Officeâs stated view that where the parties are at armâs length, goods and services exchanged are of equal GST inclusive market values.
- This Promotion is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winner.
- The winner/s will be the Eligible Entrant/s who submitted the valid entry/entries judged to be the winner/s in accordance with the Particulars.
- Winner/s of prizes valued over $250 will be published online at www.dailytelegraph.com.au within 14 days of the date on which they are determined to be a winner.
- The winner/s agree to have their name published online at www.dailytelegraph.com.au and to be available where necessary for each of the Promoter and The Daily Telegraph to interview them.
- It is a condition of accepting a prize that the winner must comply with all conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier requirements.
- Promoterâs determination of winners is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Promoter reserves the right to request information to verify the validity of entries, including proof of identity and Australian residency status at the nominated prize delivery address.
- Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for tampering with the entry process or submitting an invalid entry.
- If for any reason the Promotion is not capable of running as planned including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, pandemic, epidemic, government recommendation or public health order or other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration security or fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Promotion, and including where a prize is unavailable for any of those reasons, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion subject to any approval of state/ territory regulators where required. - Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of computer online or wireless systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, or technical problems resulting from participation or sending or receiving any communication or materials in this Promotion.
- The information entrants provide will be used by the Promoter and Nationwide News Pty Limited for the purpose of conducting this Promotion. Promoter may disclose entrantâs personal information to its contractors and agents to assist in conducting this Promotion or communicating with entrants and state/territory regulators.
- By entering the Promotion, the entrants agree and acknowledge that they will be required to provide certain personal information about them, including but not limited to their full names, date of birth, addresses, contact numbers and emails. The entrants hereby consent to the provisions of such information to the Promoter for the purpose of conducting and administering the Promotion, and all other uses described in these terms and conditions. If the entrants do not agree to the collection and use of their personal information for the purpose of conducting and administering the Promotion, they are not allowed to enter the Promotion. The Promoter may disclose an entrant's personal information, including details of the Prize winners where required or authorised to do so by or under law or the disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce the law. This may occur under the laws that apply to the Promoter's business, for example, where a regulatory authority requests information from the Promoter.
- The Promoter collects information about entrants, including but not limited to their names and contact details which the entrants provide when registering or using services of the Promoter as well as information from data houses, social media services, affiliates of the Promoter and other entities the entrants deal or interact with for example by using their services. The entrant consents to the Promoter using the information collected in the manner set out in these Terms and Conditions and subject to compliance with the law.
- The Promoter may contact the entrants (including by email and SMS) for the purposes set out in these Terms and Conditions and at any time. The Promoter may use the entrantâs names, addresses and telephone numbers for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media worldwide without notice and without any fee being paid.
- The entrants hereby acknowledge and agree that they have read and understood the Privacy Policy of the Promoter set out in the Promoterâs website https://www.starentertainmentgroup.com.au/privacy-policy/, which Privacy Policy is deemed to have incorporated by reference into these Terms and Conditions. The Privacy Policy of the Promoter includes information about:
the purposes for which The Star Entertainment Group, including the Promoter, may collect, store, use and disclose entrants' personal information;
how entrants can seek access to the personal information the Promoter holds about them and request changes to it; and
how entrants can complain about a privacy breach and how the Promoter will deal with such a complaint.
- All entries (including but not limited to the information collected therefrom) become the property of the Promoter (with the exception of any intellectual property rights comprised therein).
- Nationwide News Pty Ltd, on behalf of the Promoter, is collecting the entrantsâ personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting the Competition (including but not limited to determining the winner). If the entrants are not willing for this to occur they cannot participate in the Competition.
- Entrants also agree that their details can be provided to Nationwide News Pty Ltd (News) and be used by News to promote and improve its goods and services, to provide entrants with targeted advertising based on their online activities, and for the purposes described in Newsâ Privacy Policy. News may disclose entrantsâ information to its service and content providers, including those located outside Australia. - Nothing in these Terms and Conditions restricts, excludes or modifies any consumer rights under any statute including the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
- Subject to the previous paragraph, the Promoter and the agencies and companies associated with this Promotion are not liable (including in negligence) for any loss (including indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury, illness or death suffered in connection with this Promotion or any Prize, except for any liability which under statute cannot be excluded (in which case that liability is limited to the greatest extent allowed by law).
- The Prize Winner agrees to accept, receive and use the Prize at their own risk and will, at all times, indemnify, keep indemnified, hold harmless and release the Promoter to the full extent permitted by law from and against any and all claims, causes of action, losses, damage, liability, cost or expense (including legal expenses on a full indemnity basis), incurred by The Promoter as a result of or in connection with the Promotion and from all liability which may arise in respect of any accident, damage or injury occurring to any person or property in connection with the Prize and / or the Prize winner and their accompanying adult. The Prize winner and their accompanying adult may be required to sign an agreement to release the Promoter from and indemnify the Promoter against any liability arising from the use of the Prize.
- The laws of the state of New South Wales govern the Promotion.
