Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth was spotted returning home to Australia on Monday after wrapping up his global promotional tour for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.
The Marvel star, 40, was seen arriving at Sydney Airport with his three children – twin sons Sasha and Tristan and his daughter India Rose, 12.
However, his wife Elsa Pataky, was nowhere to be seen and the actor was instead accompanied by his personal assistant.
Hemsworth was seen smiling and looking upbeat as he took his kids to a food kiosk inside the airport after the long journey from Los Angeles where he’s been for the last week.
It’s been a huge week for the star, who celebrated having his star unveiled on the Hollywood Walk of Fame following the release of his latest blockbuster.
It was an emotional day for the actor as he joined a strong list of Australian actors who have a star on the Walk of Fame, including Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett.
“We are proud to honour Hemsworth with a well-deserved star. Chris is known for his remarkable performances that have captivated audiences worldwide,” said a statement from the organisation. “Along with his many fans, I am sure his fellow Australians will be so happy to know that we are adding another talented Aussie to our iconic Walk of Fame.”
Meanwhile, the handsome A-lister is unrecognisable as the villain in the new Mad Max movie, Dr Dementus – and he’s leading a big cast of notable Aussies who have roles in the movie.
“To be part of something so iconically Australian warranted a certain ‘don’t drop the ball’ feeling,” Hemsworth previously told AAP.
“But that just spurred all of us to dig deeper and search for how we could pay our respects to what had been done, but also bring something unique to it.”
Furiosa is a prequel to 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road and follows that film’s iconic supporting character Imperator Furiosa from childhood as she becomes the now-iconic desert warrior.
