Hit-maker Chris De Burgh will play a show on the Gold Coast next year when he embarks on his first Australian tour in more than 15 years.

The man behind such classics as Don’t Pay the Ferryman, So Beautiful, Missing you and Lady in Red is touring to mark his 50th year in showbusiness.

The 11-day tour will begin in Melbourne on May 1, 2025 before playing Brisbane Convention Centre on May 3 and the Star Gold Coast on May 4.

The tour will close with shows at the Sydney Opera House on May 8 and a Mother’s Day show at Riverside Theatre in Perth on May 11

“After my 50-year career, I’m thrilled to be returning to Australia after 16 years – some of my exciting tours and lasting memories are from being in Australia and I can’t wait to get there again,” he said.

De Burgh is currently touring Europe and the UK where he has earned rave reviews from publications including 519 Magazine which praised his performances.

“De Burgh’s performance was more than just a concert; it was a testament to his dedication to his craft and his love for music. Even as he joked with the audience and engaged in little bursts of comedy, he never lost sight of what was most import: the music,” it read.

Presale begins at noon on October 24 with general tickets on sale from 3pm on October 28.
