REAL Housewives of Sydney star Lisa Oldfield has opened up about a post sex selfie she uploaded to her Instagram account and why she later deleted it.

Online went into meltdown after the 42-year-old showed social media a photograph of herself and husband David naked on a bed after doing the deed.

“Gave the old bloke @davidoldfieldau a #sympathy #shag — we all know my show was better than his @hellskitchenon7 @rhosydney #rhos #hellskitchen,” she yesterday.

“To be fair, I haven’t eaten in a week thanks to #drliu and just wanted something warm inside me.”

Speculation ran wild as to why the controversial reality TV star then later removed the post but she cleared the air on The Morning Show today.

“OK during the whole filming of The Real Housewives and I tell you what Kyle and Jackie O give me such a hard time, they think it’s abnormal that we don’t have sex,” she told viewers.

“So when we finally had sex I thought, ‘I’ll just shut the punters up’ and you know a picture says a thousand words.”

When asked why she deleted the picture, Lisa said it had upset parents at the school her children attended.

“Some of the mums at school got weird about it,” she said.

Her husband David joked: “And I don’t understand that because they were out of frame.”

“I don’t know these photos go up. I saw that photo for the very first time in the press,” he added.

The couple made headlines after David revealed they had not had sex in a year but claimed when they did “it’s pretty wild.”

David, now a stay-at-home husband and parent to the couple’s two children, Bert, 4, and Harry, 6, told News Corp Australia his 16-year-old marriage was sexless, with Lisa claiming the couple were now in therapy, at the time.

“We make plans to do this sort of thing [have sex], it’s hilarious. It’s like booking an appointment in the diary. We have in the past year made plans to do it, and then one thing leads to another and something goes wrong and it doesn’t happen,” he said in March.
