The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will likely not be welcome at King Charles III’s Coronation, with family members concerned private conversations may be leaked, a source has claimed.
It is unknown if the King has invited his youngest son to his Coronation – and if he had, whether Prince Harry will attend.
But senior members of the royal family are concerned that spending time with Prince Harry could lead to private conversations becoming more material for his memoir, The Sun reports.
“There have been discussions among the family, including Edward and Anne,” a source told The Sun.
“They do not want private conversations at the Coronation making it into the paperback edition of Spare.”
The historic event, which is a few months away, is expected to be a smaller affair than previous coronations.
Details of the ceremony, including the guest list, have not yet been confirmed by the palace.
The event will “reflect the monarch’s role today”, according to organisers.
“[It will] look towards the future, while being rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry.”
It is understood the King does not expect Prince Harry to attend the celebrations.
It comes after the Duke of Sussex’ TV appearances to promote his memoir Spare revealed some bombshells, which have reportedly hurt members of the royal family.
A source close to the royal family told The Independent it would be “hard for them (the Sussexes) to attend after “what has been said”.
“The family expects Harry and Meghan to find a reason not to be there,” the source said.
