Meghan Markle: Claims Duchess of Sussex was mastermind behind Prince Harry’s memoir Spare

A royal expert says Meghan Markle is the mastermind behind Prince Harry’s tell-all book amid reported plans for a return to the UK.

'Bitter' Prince Harry should learn from Princess Anne on being 'spare'

Prince Harry will reportedly return to Britain to promote his explosive memoir, Spare.

The publication of the book is expected to cast a shadow over the royal family’s Christmas.

Spare is due to be published on January 10 — the day after the 41st birthday of Catherine, Princess of Wales and just four months after the death of the Queen.

The bombshell book’s title is believed to be a nod to the age-old saying “the heir and the spare”.

It refers to the monarch’s first child being necessary to continue the line of succession – unlike the second, lower-ranking royal who may be seen as “spare,” or leftover.

According to The Sun, reports have now claimed that Prince Harry may fly to the UK in the New Year to explain his “intent” in writing the book.

“Put it this way, it’s not going to make for a relaxing family Christmas,” a source said.

It comes after reports that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will snub His Majesty’s invitation to Sandringham for Christmas celebrations.

One insider said relations are believed to be at “near rock bottom” as the Duke of Sussex prepares to spill all in his new book in the new year.

A source said the royals were this week “completely caught by surprise” with the title of the book as publishers teased the memoirs “raw, unflinching honesty”.

It has also been claimed the move could potentially see retaliation from the palace, including stripping him and Meghan of their Sussex titles.

The release could also affect the titles of Harry and Meghan’s children Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, which are said to be up in the air due to the memoir.

MEGHAN ‘DICTATED HARRY’S MEMOIR’

Royal writer Tom Bower has sensationally claimed that the Duchess of Sussex was the mastermind behind Prince Harry’s upcoming memoir.

Bower made his comments during a heated debate on British television, describing Markle as the “driving force” behind Spare.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, Bower was asked whether he believed King Charles would actually strip his son of the title.

“He’ll (Harry) keep his princely title, it’s Meghan I’m after,” Bower said.

“His book is really Meghan’s. Meghan is the person who has dictated this agenda.”

Bower compared Prince Harry’s memoir to the explosive Oprah Winfrey interview, which he said was “hugely damaging to the royal family” because it contained “17 inaccuracies and lies”.

The Revenge author suggested Harry’s book could follow suit and said now was the time for the King to dump their titles to preserve the reputation of the monarchy.

“(The royal family) is one of Britain’s most important status symbols in the world and what reflects Britain’s status and its values is the royal family.

“The couple in Montecito, who are making their fortune, solely by damaging and destroying the royal family to promote their own fortunes and their own prestige and their own brand, I don’t think they should be allowed to call themselves Duke and Duchess anymore

“The only way in which they can be undermined, reduced in importance in America is to say ‘well if you think that of us, this is our family, this is Britain you don’t need to keep your titles anymore’.”

WILLIAM FREEZES OUT HARRY

Relations with Prince William are also still frosty with reports surfacing that the Prince of Wales has barely spoken to his brother since the news of the memoir.

Prince Harry’s confessional memoir flies in the face of the old royal convention of “never complain, never explain”.

Earlier this week long-awaited details of the 416-page title were revealed, including publisher Penguin Random House’s description.

“Spare takes readers immediately back to one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow — and horror,” the blurb reads.

“As Diana, Princess of Wales, was laid to rest, billions wondered what the princes must be thinking and feeling – and how their lives would play out from that point on.”
