Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are in the “last chance saloon” with the royal family and will be “cut off” if they leak any “private” details about the Platinum Jubilee, a royal expert has claimed.
It comes after the pair’s flying visit to London from their California mansion for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
According to British media reports, royal outsider Harry did not spend any time with his brother Prince William and met his grandmother, the Queen, for just 15 miinutes.
Harry and Meghan were barely seen in public before jetting home again, while their children Archie and Lilibet weren’t seen at all.
The Sussexes were allegedly told there was “no chance” of an official photo with the Queen, prompting speculation that palace insiders may have been worried any photos would be shared with TV networks in the US or in Prince Harry’s upcoming tell-all memoirs.
Royal biographer and journalist Duncan Larcombe told Closer magazine: “If anything from the weekend leaked, I imagine they will be totally cut off and that’ll be it.”
He said: “They have come to the UK and to the Jubilee and really cemented themselves as royals again, which is great for their brand and something that Spotify, Netflix and Penguin will be eating up.”
The royal expert said senior royals had “extended an olive branch” to the couple at the Jubilee but “Harry and Meghan would ruin that if any private information about this weekend was spoken about to the press or revealed in a book”.
The Sussexes had visited the UK to “mend fences”, but ran into a “brick wall” with some senior royals instead, he said.
It comes after Prince Harry fell off his horse at a polo match in California after returning from his Platinum Jubilee visit.
The Duke of Sussex took the dramatic tumble in front of his celebrity friends at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club on the weekend.
The 37-year-old quickly got back on his feet after he was flung to the ground and other polo players came to check on him.
Meghan was not present at the match.
The Duke is said to be living his best life in California after he and Meghan shocked the world by stepping down from royal life.
Since moving to Montecito, he has been playing polo at a professional level and has been hitting the gym hard, Hello magazine reports.
His Los Padres team lost the match 12-11, but he didn’t appear too downcast by the result as he was pictured hanging out with American idol runner up Katharine McPhee, 38, her composer husband David Foster, 72, and their young son Rennie.
Music industry legend Foster has been described by some as a “father figure” to Harry.
A smiling Harry was also seen with his arm around teammate Nacho Figueras’ wife Delfina.
