PRINCE George and Princess Charlotte will have starring roles in their uncle Prince Harry’s wedding to American actor Meghan Markle on Saturday.
Kensington Palace confirmed tonight that Prince George, four, will be a page-boy, while Princess Charlotte, three, will be a bridesmaid, which is what flower-girls are called in the UK.
The pair are the two older children of Harry’s brother Prince William, who will be his best man, and his wife Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge.
The Cambridge’s third child, baby Prince Louis, who was born on April 23, will not attend the wedding.
In keeping with British high-society wedding tradition, Ms Markle will not have any adult bridesmaids.
Instead, five bridesmaids and four page boys will join the royal couple for the service. This includes three siblings from the Mulroney family in Canada.
As well as Princess Charlotte, the bridesmaids include Florence Van Cutsem, three, daughter of Nicholas and Alice Van Cutsem.
A friend of Prince Harry and Prince William since childhood, Mr Van Cutsem is a Major with the Household Cavalry’s Life Guards and guarded William and Catherine’s carriage for their 2011 wedding.
Ms Markle’s two god-daughters Remi Litt, six, and Rylan Litt, seven, daughters of Benita and Darren Litt, will also take centre-stage as bridesmaids.
Benita is a long-time friend of Ms Markle’s from Los Angeles who runs her own brand curation and design firm.
As widely tipped, four-year-old Ivy Mulroney, daughter of Canadian stylist Jessica Mulroney and her husband Ben, will be a bridesmaid.
Ms Mulroney and Ms Markle became close friends while the actor was living in Toronto for many years filming the TV series Suits.
Ben is the son of former Canadian prime minister Brian Mulroney.
The fourth and youngest bridesmaid will be two-year-old Zalie Warren, the daughter of Harry’s close friend and bloodstock agent Jake Warren and his wife Zoe. Mr Warren’s father is the Queen’s racing manager John Warren.
Ivy’s Mulroney’s twin brothers Brian and John, aged seven, will also be page boys.
Prince George will be the youngest of the page-boys.
He will be joined by Jasper Dyer, six, the son of Amanda and Mark Dyer. Mark Dyer, often known as the “royal mentor’’ is a former equerry to Prince Charles, and has been a lifelong friend and confidante of Harry and William.
