Prince Andrew is reportedly ready to sue his accuser Virginia Giuffre for $140 million after it was revealed she signed a book deal.

Prince Andrew is poised to hit Virginia Giuffre with an $A140 million (£81million) lawsuit.

The duke is “ready to go on the attack” if she repeats her sex allegations against him in her new book, The Sun reports.

“The minute she writes anything that repeats the original claims against him she will be hit with a $USD100 million ($A140 million) defamation lawsuit,” a source claimed.

“Andrew is ready to go on the attack. Then her claims will be put under scrutiny in a court of law.”

It was revealed last week, Ms Giuffre, 39, signed a book deal believed to be worth millions.

A victim of sex trafficking at the hands of paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein, now deceased, and Ghislaine Maxwell, now in prison, Ms Giuffre has claimed the Duke of York raped and abused her when she was 17. Prince Andrew has strongly denied her accusations.

The pair were due to put the allegations to a jury in court, but Prince Andrew settled the lawsuit in February of 2022.

The month before, it was announced Prince Andrew had been stripped of his military titles, his royal patronages would be returned to the Queen and he would stop using the title His Royal Highness in an official capacity.

It was reported earlier this month that an order signed by both parties for Ms Giuffre to remain silent about the case and financial deal expires in February.

The book announcement came after The Sun revealed Prince Andrew was hoping to overturn the multi-million-pound settlement with Ms Giuffre now her abuse case against a high-profile US lawyer has crumbled.

Prince Andrew is consulting top US lawyers Andrew Brettler and Blair Berk to try to get her to retract the allegations.
