Meghan ‘frozen out’ by Prince Charles over the Duchess’s ‘Royal family war’

Prince Harry and Meghan are set to be denied a Royal audience in the UK after the Duchess of Sussex’s thinly-veiled threats to reveal more palace secrets in podcast.

Meghan Markle's 'tragic' control over Prince Harry

Prince Harry and Meghan are facing a humiliating snub from the Royal family as Prince Charles is likely to have them “frozen out” of official meetings during their tour of the United Kingdom.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrive in Windsor on Sunday for a quasi-royal tour of London, but a close friend of Prince Charles said they would be denied an audience with the future King after Meghan appeared to threaten his family to promote her Spotify podcast.

“Charles adores Harry, and would like nothing better than to get the relationship sorted. But a meeting next week is unlikely,” he told The Daily Beast.

“Everything was already on hold until they saw what was in Harry’s book, but if Meghan is actively threatening to reveal further secrets, and telling interviewers, ‘I haven’t signed anything, I can say anything I want,’ then it’s not surprising they are being frozen out.”

In an interview with The Cut to promote Archetypes, Meghan said she made an active “effort to forgive” her royal in-laws, before adding: “Especially knowing that I can say anything.”

“I have a lot to say until I don’t. Do you like that? Sometimes, as they say, the silent part is still part of the song,” she added.

It was taken by Royal observers as the opening salvo of a 12-week war, which kicked off in her first two episodes with Serena Williams and Mariah Carey.

Meghan is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the One Young World Summit on Monday local time before she and Harry travel to Germany Tuesday the next day to promote the Invictus Games.

Prince Harry and Meghan have an open calendar on Wednesday before they’re due back in London on Thursday, September 8 to attend the WellChild Awards, a charity Harry has supported after becoming a father.

Prince Charles and the Queen will be at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, where she will greet the UK’s next prime minister as part of the official “kissing hands” tradition.

The Queen is not expected to return to Buckingham Palace before Prince Harry and Meghan return to the United States.

Once they do, Prince Charles is likely to keep them frozen out of the Royal family if Meghan continues to reveal the family’s dirty laundry as part of the Sussex’s reputed USD $30 million ($45m AUD) podcast deal.

Their visit to the UK will be their first since the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June, and their travel around the country is further complicated by Prince Harry’s ongoing battle with Britain’s Home Office over an official security detail.

Prince William and Kate, meanwhile, will also be at their new home in Windsor on Thursday to see Prince George and Princess Charlotte off to their first day at their new school.
