Katy Perry: 'My big breasts are gifts from God'

KATY Perry tells GQ that she prayed for big breasts as an 11-year-old. Her photo shoot for the cover confirms that God does answer prayers.

Perry - whose real name is Katheryn Hudson and is the middle child of travelling ministers - told GQ that having big breasts was her one wish as a child.

"I lay on my back one night and looked down at my feet, and I prayed to God. I said, ‘God, will you please let me have boobs so big that I can’t see my feet when I’m lying down?;" she said.  "God answered my prayers.  I had no clue they would fall into my armpits eventually."

But that wasn't the only revelation from the interview. Perry said that she believed in aliens and was considering sharing her view with US President Barack Obama.

"I believe in a lot of astrology. I believe in aliens. I look up into the stars and I imagine: 'How self-important are we to think that we are the only life-form?' I mean, if my relationship with Obama gets any better, I’m going to ask him that question. It just hasn’t been appropriate yet," she said.

And so how tight is she with Obama?

"I might have won Wisconsin for him (during the election)," she said. "Actually, I didn’t do too much, but he called on me a couple of times, which was very nice."

Perry has an unusual relationship with her parents, who she calls "oddballs, but I love them."

While both are ministers now each had a wild life before Perry came along.  Her mum once went dancing in Spain with Jimi Hendrix and her dad used LSD when he hung with writer Timothy Leary. 

However, once they had children they forbade Perry and her brother and sister to listen to rock ’n’ roll, to eat Lucky Charms (luck evokes Lucifer), or to watch racy movies.

Perry says while she is still religious she does not "believe God is an old guy sitting on a throne with a long beard" or in "heaven and hell as a destination."
