POPULAR radio and television personality Kate Ritchie has given birth to her first child.
The Nova presenter and former Home and Away actor revealed she and husband Stuart Webb had welcomed the arrival of a healthy baby girl in Sydney on Sunday.
“We welcomed our beautiful little girl into the world last night,” Ritchie said as she made the announcement on Facebook.
“She is doing very well, as is mum. We happen to think she is perfect and couldn’t be more delighted.”
Ritchie, 36, worked as co-host of Nova drive alongside Tim Blackwell and Marty Sheargold until Friday night.
The couple, who wed in Tasmania in 2010, are yet to announce their daughters name.
Last week, Ritchie took to Instagram with suggested names from “little helpers” for both sexes. For a girl, it was Molly, Lilly, Matilda, Madeline and Georgina. And for a boy, names were William, Hugo, Harry, Joshua and Lucas.
After much speculation and two months of rumours, Ritchie and Webb announced the pregnancy in March, again on social media.
“It is with great excitement that Stuart and I announce we are expecting our first child.
“We can assure you any secrecy up to this moment has been nothing more than us protecting what is most sacred — a new life that was far from reaching its 12 week milestone.
“Thank you to all who have respected our privacy over these past weeks allowing us the privilege every couple deserves — to share the wonderful news ourselves. It really is such a special time for us and we couldn’t be happier! KR x”
