BAFTAs 2023 red carpet: Kate Middleton, Florence Pugh, Cate Blanchett stun

The Don’t Worry Darling star turned plenty of heads in her jaw-dropping – and enormous – sheer tulle gown on the red carpet at the BAFTAs.

Florence Pugh has made a showstopping entrance on the red carpet at this year’s BAFTA awards.

Don’t Worry Darling actress turned plenty of heads in a sheer custom Nina Ricci by Harris Reed orange tulle gown accessorised with Tiffany & Co. jewellery.

The British actress, 27, was joined by Prince William and Kate Middleton at the glamourous event, with the royals making their long-awaited return to the red carpet for the first time since 2020.

Kate 41, wowed in a white dress at London’s Royal Festival Hall as she adorably gave her husband, 40, “a love tap,” as seen in a video shared via Vogue’s Instagram account.

Wearing an Alexander McQueen one-shouldered gown, the royal looked glam for her date night with her husband, 40, who serves as president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.

Kate’s dress, which she has worn previously, featured cinching at the waist and one-shouldered cape detailing. She paired the look with A$31 Zara earrings and black opera gloves.

She added a small black clutch and gold pumps, while allowing her sleek brunette tresses to cascade down her back.

The couple skipped last year’s annual TV and film awards due to scheduling conflicts. One year prior, Prince William – who was supposed to present a speech at the virtual event – backed out due to Prince Philip’s death.

The BAFTAs attracted plenty of other high-profile guests, including Michelle Yeoh – who has attracted rave reviews for her performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once.

The Malaysian actress was elegant in a couture Dior suit with statement earrings and sleek hair.

Cate Blanchett and Julianne Moore both opted for classic black gowns, with Blanchett in Maison Margiela and Louis Vuitton jewellery, while Moore wore Saint Laurent with a feathered shrug.

American actress Anya Taylor-Joy was decked out in a very unique velvet ensemble by Schiaparelli which featured a hooded cape.

Blonde actress Ana de Armas was pretty in pink in a pastel Louis Vuitton gown, with her dark hair styled in loose waves.

During this year’s ceremony, All Quiet on the Western Front dominated in several categories.

The World War One epic took home seven awards, including Best Film, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Director for Edward Berger.

Along with the special royal guests, this year’s show also honoured Queen Elizabeth II in a tribute led by Helen Mirren.

The actress won both a BAFTA and an Oscar for her portrayal of the late monarch in 2006’s The Queen.
