James Franco shaves head for new movie ‘Zeroville’

WE all know he’s not afraid of a selfie — now James Franco has taken to Instagram to let us know he’s shaved his head.

WE all know he’s not afraid of a selfie — now James Franco has taken to Instagram to let us know he’s shaved his head.

The 36-year-old actor posted before and after pics, with the latter baldheaded image accompanied by the caption: “Get ready for ZEROVILLE.”

(Franco is set to take on the lead role in the cinematic adaptation of the 2007 critically acclaimed novel by Steve Erickson.)

Earlier this week, Franco had posted a selfie in sunglasses and a leather jacket, with the caption: “Say Goodbye to this hair... You’ll see. Tomorrow.”

The night before posting the photos, Franco (with a full head of hair) had attended the Italian premiere of The Director: An Evolution In Three Acts, a documentary he produced.

Having premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last April, the film provides an “intimate portrait of Gucci’s Creative Director, Frida Giannini”.

It “spends 18 months inside the walls of the iconic Italian fashion house, exploring the intricacies of a quietly brilliant woman whose evolution as the creative force behind the brand is as nuanced as the storeyed company itself”.
