Over a decade on from leaving her Playboy Bunny lifestyle, Holly Madison has made a heartbreaking revelation about her time in the mansion.

Holly Madison revealed she struggled with body dysmorphia while living at the Playboy Mansion in the 2000s.

The former model, 41, detailed her experience in a TikTok video, telling viewers she wanted to address her body image issues in hopes of spreading awareness and encouraging others to focus on their happiness.

“I came across one (photo of me) and it reminded me of a moment in my life where I was watching a playback of myself in a fashion show and I thought, ‘Oh, my God, I need to lose weight,’” she told her 1 million followers.

Reflecting on her time as a Playboy Bunny, Madison revealed her body dysmorphia got in the way of her living her best life and prevented her from “being as happy as I could be and really enjoying life as much as I could”.

“It’s not worth feeling bad about yourself,” she shared. “Like, there are things we all want to improve about ourselves, but it’s not even worth taking the time to be miserable.”

Madison said she was speaking out to help others.

The Girls Next Door alum admitted seeing the photo after it was first taken left her “terrified” and panicking that she needed to lose “at least” five pounds (2.2kg).

“And that’s ridiculous,” she said of her mindset. “I look like a stick.”

Fans expressed their support for the former reality star and praised her for her honesty.

“I love you Holly! Thank you for being so honest and open,” wrote a commenter.

Madison moved into the Playboy Mansion in 2001 and left after her 2008 break-up with the magazine’s editor, Hugh Hefner.

In a recent interview for web series Call Her Daddy, the 41-year-old former Playboy bunny recalled how Hugh Hefner would allegedly attempt to create tensions among the women in the mansion and on The Girls Next Door reality show.

“Even before the show was there,” she said.

“He would very much create double standards and different rules for the girls and it was designed so he could have a big ego and he could feel fought over … It was really gross, in my opinion.”

She continued: “In my relationship with Hef, things had gotten so bad, he became over the top verbally abusive overnight and I just was panicking.

“I was like I don’t care what I’m giving up, I have to get out of here,” she said of leaving the mansion.

Hefner died in 2017, aged 91, and left behind his third wife, former Playboy playmate Crystal Hefner (née Harris).
