Aussie comic Hannah Gadsby dating Transparent creator Jill Soloway
AUSTRALIAN comedian Hannah Gadsby’s career is going gangbusters and now it’s emerged she’s secretly been seeing one of Tinseltown’s most influential people.

AUSSIE comic Hannah Gadsby and Transparent creator Jill Soloway are an item.
A source told the New York Post that the pair have been seeing each other since mid-2018, and things have been getting serious.
“Jill recently went to Australia to meet Hannah’s family,” the source told the publication.
The pair have been travelling and doing talks together as part of the promotion for Soloway’s new memoir, She Wants It: Desire, Power, and Toppling the Patriarchy.
The insider said “they don’t want people to know they are a couple,” adding, “they are very private.”
During a speaking engagement in New York last week, Soloway explained they had sent an e-mail to Gadsby while looking for “queer, intersectional, interesting folks to speak to about book writing” for her Amazon imprint, Topple. (Soloway prefers to go by the pronoun ‘they’.)
At the talk, Soloway recalled later seeing Gadsby — whose special Nanette was a big hit on Netflix in the US — perform “and was so blown away.”
Soloway said, “We had breakfast the next morning … and became friends after that. We realised yes, we both have a lot of things in common that we like to talk about that generally annoy other people.”
Gadsby chimed in, “I think it overwhelms people. It was nice to meet someone who in the course of small talk, you are talking about consent.”
Soloway added, “Rage, patriarchy, consent before the coffee comes.”
The writer-director was previously married to Bruce Gilbert. They separated in 2015 and have one son. Soloway then went on to date poet Eileen Myles.
The Emmy and Golden Globe winner also has a son with John Strozier.
Soloway’s new book covers the TV scribe’s father coming out as transgender and charts “Jill’s evolution from straight, married mother of two to identifying as queer and nonbinary.
“This intense and revelatory metamorphosis challenges the status quo and reflects the shifting power dynamics that continue to shape our collective worldview.”
Neither have commented on the rumours.
