Rumours persist over father of Amber Heard’s baby girl Oonagh Paige

The actress at the centre of the Johnny Depp trial insists she is “mum and dad” to her daughter, but rumours persist over the real father.

Amber Heard announced that she secretly welcomed baby girl Oonagh Paige via surrogate in July 2021 — insisting she is both “the mum and dad” to the child.

Oonagh was born on April 8 with the help of a surrogate after Heard was told she would never be able to carry her own baby, friends revealed.

Heard confirmed the news via Instagram, where she shared a photo of herself with the infant. She has never disclosed the identity of the child’s father or sperm donor.

“I’m so excited to share this news with you. Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child. I wanted to do it on my own terms,” she wrote.

“I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way.

“I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalised to not want a ring in order to have a crib.”

After having her daughter by surrogate, Heard says, “I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalised to not want a ring in order to have a crib.”

She added, “A part of me wants to uphold that my private life is none of anyone’s business. I also get that the nature of my job compels me to take control of this.

“My daughter was born on April 8, 2021. Her name is Oonagh Paige Heard. She’s the beginning of the rest of my life.”

Following her bitter divorce with Johnny Depp, Heard was then linked at the time with cinematographer Bianca Butti, whom she had been dating since January 2020, but she made the decision to have a baby on her own some time ago and is “proud” to be Oonagh’s sole legal parent, we’re told.

There has been wild speculation that Elon Musk could secretly be the father of the child, and acted as sperm donor.

Heard dated the Tesla CEO for one year before they broke up in August 2017. After four months apart, the pair decided to give their relationship another try later that year. In February 2018, they split up for good.

A rep for Heard didn’t respond to requests for comment on the identity of the child’s father. Musk didn’t get back to us.

Heard and Elon Musk dated between 2016 – 2018.

A source exclusively told Page Six after the child arrived that Heard is “beyond in love” with her daughter, whom she named after her late mum, Paige.

The birth is particularly poignant, as she lost her own mum in May 2020 at the age of 63, saying at the time that she was “heartbroken and devastated beyond belief.”

She called her mother Paige “the most beautiful woman I had ever known” in an Instagram post, adding: “It’s hard to imagine and even more difficult to say but I feel truly lucky to have been her daughter and been given the gift of having the light she shone on everyone, fall on me for nearly 34 years.”

Later in July 2021, Heard shared an adorable picture of Oonagh working with her on a laptop calling her “the boss”.

“I’m just the mum and the dad. She’s the boss ” Heard, 35, captioned an Instagram photo of her working on a laptop while holding Oonagh Paige.

Since sharing the news, Heard has posted videos on her Instagram of her and her daughter living their life together. They have been living in London, where Heard has been pictured pushing the gorgeous child around in a stroller.

On April 8, 2022, Heard celebrated the first birthday of her baby girl. She wrote, “My little O is a year old today. I still can’t believe you’re here. The greatest year.”

It seems Heard and her daughter are inseparable, even posting pictures of her holding the child while working out.
