Error revealed in now deleted tweet from Royal Family

The Royal Family have deleted a tweet from Charles just moments after it was posted, with thousands of people viewing it before it was removed from the site.

Just hours after stepping into the role of King, following his mother Queen Elizabeth II’s death, Charles took to the Royal Family’s Twitter account to deliver his first statement as King.

The royal described he and the family’s “great sadness” following the passing of their “beloved” mother on Friday.

“We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved mother,” King Charles III said in the statement.

“I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people across the world.

“During this period of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which The Queen was so widely held.”

The tweet, which at first glance appeared perfect, was quickly removed by the Royal Palace after a typo was spotted in the caption of the post.

The caption which sat on top of the statement read: “A statement from His Majesty, His King” instead of “His Majesty, The King.”

A new tweet was published to replace the original post just moments after it was deleted, including the correct caption.

Unfortunately, the removal was not quick enough to prevent users from noticing the error.

“Anyone else notice the typo?” said one user.

“Not the royal family page making a typo while using the new king’s title publicly for the first time, King Charles era it is,” said another.

“Why did you delete the 1st pic?” another Twitter user commented, with another person responding saying: “There was a typo – ‘His King’ instead of ‘The King’.”

Other users took to social media to express their shock at the fact Charles was already being referred to as King, so shortly after The Queen’s death.

“The King. Wow,” said one Twitter user on the post.

“Calling him King Charles already feels weird,” said another.
