Edwina Bartholomew joins in social media hilarity over #Vajayjaygate Oscars dress

THE Seven presenter found herself the target of social media jokers who thought an adornment on her dress looked a bit like a part of the female anatomy.

SUNRISE’S Edwina Bartholomew has showed she has a sense of humour by joining in the social media debate about her Oscars dress.

The freshly promoted presenter found herself the target of jokers who decided an adornment on the front of her gown looked a bit like a part of the female anatomy.

It was first sparked by one Instagram user who said: “Nice but why is there a uterus on your dress?”.

The debate broadened to Facebook where another said “Lose the vajayjay and it would have been perfect”.

Edwina took it all in her stride, hashtagging a response to her 87.7k followers “#vajayjaygate” and “#itdidcrossmymind”

She also told the Kyle and Jackie O show: “I went through the WHOLE day without anyone saying ‘you’ve got a vagina on your dress!”

“Hahaha I did know they might call it ‘the vagina dress’ and I still wore it anyway!”

But mostly there was support for the number.

Stephaniesiskas posted “You looked beautiful,” while buritocatcat said “That is not how a vajayjay is supposed to look. If yours looks like this, I suggest you see a doctor.”

Its_gourmet_baby agreed, saying: “Never even would have thought this in a million years! You looked gorgeous as always”.

Aside from the dress ‘incident’, Edwina filled her account with victorious Aussies — such as Sound Mixer Ben Osmo and Sound Editor David White (both Mad Max) — and red-carpet selfies, sightseeing snaps and images of her toes and even a pot of Academy Award almonds.

Edwina recently shifted posts at Channel Seven from weathergirl to regular member of the frontline Sunrise team.
