Ed Sheeran finally reveals two-month-old daughter’s unusual name

Ed Sheeran and his wife have finally revealed the very unusual name they’ve given their second daughter, almost two months after she was born.

Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn have named their baby daughter Jupiter Seaborn Sheeran.

The superstar, who is currently on a mammoth world tour which included five dates at Wembley Stadium, became a dad for the second time in May.

The Sun reports the quirky name is thought to have special meaning for Ed, 31, and Cherry, 30, – who shared an adorable snap of her tiny white boots online earlier this year.

In recent years the name Jupiter has become more and more popular with parents, with it said to represent the “brave and bold”.

A source said: “Ed and Cherry loved the name both in terms of what it stands for and its uniqueness.

“Everyone thinks Jupiter works perfectly for her.

“Behind closed doors Cherry has been gushing over becoming a mum again. She and Ed really are a match made in heaven.

“Their family is beautiful.”

Announcing her birth to The Sun in May, Ed said: “I want to let you all know we’ve had another beautiful baby girl.

Sheeran posted these white boots back in May to announce his daughter's birth.

“We are both so in love with her, and over the moon to now be a family of four.”

Ed used a special Tour Edition of his hit album Equals to pen a heartfelt track about becoming a dad for the first time to Lyra, 1, who was born in August 2020.

On Welcome to the World, the music icon sings: “Welcome to the world/ I heard your heartbeat and lost every word.

“Just stood there quietly taking in the sound/ Of our love.”

The emotional track ends with an intimate recording of Ed and Cherry feeling her kick.

Ed says: You got the kick? Has it actually?” to which Cherry replies sweetly: “Yeah. Have you woken up?”
