The 54-year-old made a smoking return to the red carpet overnight for the New York City premiere of her latest film Rough Night. Looking effortlessly sexy in a rainbow Christian Dior gown, the star of iconic flicks Ghost and St. Elmo’s Fire showed her younger co-stars Scarlett Johansson and Zoe Kravitz how it’s done on the red carpet.

Moore showed off her cleavage in the flirty gown and a series of colourful straps cinched around the bodice showed off her toned torso. She kept the look relaxed by leaving her long black hair out and gathered over one shoulder.

Rough Night marks Moore’s return to the big screen after several years of focusing on smaller projects. Last year, she starred alongside Shirley MacLaine and Jacki Weaver in the limited release movie Wild Oats and filmed Blind with Alec Baldwin.

In Rough Night — about five college girlfriends who reunite for a wild bachelorette weekend in Miami — Moore plays an overly sexual neighbour who tries to recruit one of the girls into having a threesome with her husband, played by Modern Family’s Ty Burrell.

In the trailer for the racy film, the hens party stumbles across a topless Moore and speedo-clad Burrell sunning themselves on a deck.

“They went for it,” director Lucia Aniello said, describing a particular scene where Moore’s character gets lucky with one of the girls.

“Demi’s going down on her and she’s like, ‘I think we need to dig out some of the sand here so I can have this angle.’ She’s at least a little bit making fun of the kinds of things she’s done in the past, which she totally got and was so down for.”

Rough Night hits Aussie theatres on June 15.
