CATE Blanchett is not happy with the red carpet treatment actresses get at awards shows.
At last year’s SAG Awards, she famously called out a cameraman who panned up and down her dress by bending down and asking: “Do you do that to the guys?”
And in a new interview, she’s attacked the “mani cams” and ridiculous questions female actors are made submit to.
“Since I’ve been struttin’ the red carpet, things have changed a lot,’ she told Harper’s Bazaar Australia.
“The way women are asked about those red-carpet moments. Oh my God. It’s just a dress!
“People forget the fact that women are up there [at the Academy Awards] because they’ve given extraordinary performances.
“It’s a wonderful excuse to dress up and have F.U.N. But let’s not forget the work.”
Talking about the “mani cams” — where celebs are made put their fingers on display for a camera to inspect their manicures — she said: “Next it will be, ‘What brand tampon are you wearing?’”
“How much more intimate can they get? ‘Show us your knickers’? There is a line.”
