Body language expert says baby Archie’s christening photos show ‘something is wrong’

It was a private affair. But Archie’s christening photos have experts scratching their heads. “Something is wrong” in the royal household.

Meghan and Harry christen baby Archie: First photos released

A body language expert says it’s clear that “something is wrong” in the royal household, based on baby Archie’s christening photos.

Dr Louise Mahler, an expert in body language, voice and emotion, said the latest pictures to come out of the royal camp left her “worried”.

“Something is wrong there, I can’t quite see what it is,” she said.

Here’s what Dr Mahler thought of the photos shared yesterday to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Instagram account:

“If this was really a party they’d have that look of joy. That’s no party, that’s no celebration.

Meghan has got this tense, frozen state and upper body tension. Look at how Harry’s arm is drooped around her, it has no energy or connection. It is just dropped and loose.

They look like the survivors of a war in crisis. I’m not saying they don’t love each other but they look like they are supporting each other through a crisis.

(Prince) William looks really stiff, unusually so. The star of the colour photo is Kate, she looks magnificent with her energy and glistening eyes. It is not a ‘party snap’ for any of them. Yes, the picture is gorgeous, but there is something wrong … he’s (Harry) definitely had a falling out with Will and Kate.

THE FAMILY PHOTO

“Rarely do we see Harry and Meghan looking at each other. He looks at the baby, she looks to him, the baby sleeps oblivious. He seems oblivious to the fact that she’s looking at him. It’s like he’s denying that and staring at the baby instead. They are a supportive couple … (but) it looks almost as though he cannot look at her and her look is not one of soft love. A tension in her dropped facial muscles says ‘concern’. Something is wrong.”

Dr Mahler said based on recent photos of Prince Harry, she suspected he may be feeling depressed. She also suspected Meghan might be a controlling spouse based on her tense neck and deep stare down the camera.

“If people are inflexible they jam their neck. He looks at her in a defensive, angry way and she looks at him saying ‘come on, we can do this’ … they’re surviving.”

Dr Mahler said based on the couple’s body language she did not expect them to last the test of time.

“I think Harry will crack, they’ll separate and she’ll go off on his own. I don’t think they will stay together unless they can clearly break away from the royals.”
