SHE quietly exited her full-time role with Channel 7’s current affairs flagship Sunday Night in 2017 after years on the road.
Now, reporter Rahni Sadler is buckling in for a new adventure: Motherhood.
She has put her on-air career on hold while she prepares for the birth of her first child, at the age of 45.
Sadler had suffered life-threatening complications from a miscarriage months before the breakdown of her marriage in 2009.
It’s believed her decision to pull back from travel and on-air duties last year was made in the hope of ensuring a safe and successful pregnancy.
It seems her decision is paying off.
Rahni is six months pregnant with the child of her best friend of 20 years, Geoff Dunn.
Dunn is the long time executive producer of Seven News in Sydney.
It’s understood the pair used the IVF services of a South African clinic earlier this year.
Sadler has spent the majority of her career reporting for Seven News, in both Sydney and the United States.
She travelled the world for almost a decade reporting with Sunday Night and is currently lending a hand to respected Australian presenter Andrew Denton, as a producer on his new program Interview.
When contacted for comment, Sadler confirmed the pregnancy, and said that she and Geoff were “beyond ecstatic”.
The baby is due in October.
