Party season is nearly coming to a close but there’s still one big occasion left … New Year’s Eve.
Here’s how Australia’s social set will be ringing in 2020 in fashionable style.
EMILY WEIR - Home And Away actor
I’m off to Bali for some rest and recreation. I’m going to relax by the pool and beach – get massages, do yoga, have a mini getaway retreat.
My New Year’s resolutions are to eat less sugar, volunteer more and get involved in causes that I care about like climate change.
LUKAS RADOVICH - Home And Aw ay actor
I’m really looking forward to spending every day at the beach during the holidays and with friends. My new year’s resolution is to pick up a new skill, maybe a language. My housemate speaks Spanish all the time and I hope to catch her off guard by responding in Spanish at some point in the new year!
ADA NICODEMOU - Home And Away actor
I don’t make new year resolutions, I just try to lead a healthy life, spend time with the people I love and enjoy my life.
ANNA HEINRICH
My sister is putting on a New Year’s party in Mexico. I don’t make New Year’s resolutions, I just feel like everyday, I want to be my best self and do better.
I feel like everything I want to do, I do now, I don’t wait ‘til the next year.
CANDICE WARNER – Cricket WAG
We don’t celebrate too much on New Year’s Eve, just because it’s right in the middle of cricket (season). We tend to do something, go somewhere and watch the fireworks, but it’s always very low-key.
It’s all about the kids at this time of year. We’re the type of people that just take every day as it comes – positive vibes … going into the New Year.
ANGIE KENT – The Bachelorette
I like low key. I will probably be on the Sunshine Coast at a house gathering and a bit of fire work watching with my best friends and Carlin (her new boyfriend, the couple met on The Bachelorette ), so that we can celebrate our relationship into 2020.
My New Year’s resolution is to continue living in the moment and being so incredibly grateful for what has been and what is to come. Definitely cutting down on my new-found champagne obsession and getting this body, mind and spirit ready for whatever the universe has in store for me next.
JASON DUNDAS – host of The Watchlist
I’m heading to Aspen to go skiing and party for New Year’s. Resolution? To learn a second language, an instrument and cook more.
LINDY KLIM – model
We have no cemented New Year’s plan just yet; however, I should be almost ready to move into my new home in Bali, so fingers crossed we will be able to host our family and friends there.
I’m not one to traditionally make New Year’s resolutions, I try and set myself goals and challenges throughout the whole year.
ELYSE KNOWLES – model and Myer ambassador
This New Year, Josh and I will be camping with a group of our friends. Four wheel driving, swimming, listening to good tunes and sleeping under the stars in the swag. No big parties for me, just making the most of nature and the simple life.
2020 will be about encouraging people (including myself!), to slow down and take better care of ourselves. I love the feeling of a new year. You get to wipe the slate clean and begin the year with fresh perspective.
KRIS SMITH – Myer ambassador
I’ve never really made plans for NY. This year with a young family if I make the 9pm fireworks I’ll be very happy!
New Year’s resolution? To make my new business ventures a success.
NATASHA OAKLEY – Monday Swimwear designer and Instagram star
For 2020, I’d love to continue growing my business and spreading a positive message. I have a lot of amazing ideas in mind, and I’m excited to share them throughout the year.
I’ll be spending the holidays in Sydney this year with my family. I’m really excited to be back in my hometown, especially since it will be summer in Sydney.
TOM DERICKX – David Jones ambassador
On New Year’s Eve, my band Kayex is playing at a party in Perth, it’s going to be a fun one!
New Year’s resolution is to read more books and spend more time with family.
I’ve been focusing so hard on Kayex this year and family time and self-care has taken a back seat. My younger brother is living in Canada so I’m going to go see him. Read a heap of books and keep learning.
ASHER KEDDIE – actor and Myer ambassador
We’ll be heading off to explore far North Queensland.
New Year’s resolution? To juggle better! There are exciting plans for our work, which always brings the possibility of travel and diverse experiences for the whole family.
TEGAN MARTIN – former Miss Universe Australia
A little summer escape to Harrington with my closest friends from Newcastle, followed by a picnic & beers at the beach on New Year’s Day, how good is the festive season in Australia!
New Year’s resolution?
My New Year’s resolution is to stop sweating the small stuff … maybe stop eating a block of Loving Earth chocolate every night, but we’ll see how we go with that one!

ROZALIA RUSSIAN – Instagram star
New Year’s Eve is always spent at Nick’s amazing party, which he throws every year at Circa Rooftop and then followed by an event at Pontoon on New Year’s Day.
This year’s resolution is to reply to my text messages within a reasonable time. It’s either within seconds or a few days later, there’s no in between.
REBECCA HARDING – model
We’re hopeless at organising New Year’s Eve plans. It’ll most likely be a last minute, impromptu party at our place or a quite one with family.
New Year’s resolution? My New Year’s resolution is to be more patient and to take ballet lessons.
MATTY J – Nova summer radio host and co-host of The Babble podcast
This NY is going to be extremely quiet – we’ve booked a house down the South Coast with my sister’s family. She’ll be six months pregnant and between us there’ll be three kids under three so I’m expecting a night filled with nappy changes, Pepper Pig and dummies. The dream!
New Year’s resolution? Not being on my phone while I’m in bed. I tried to stick to this rule and failed miserably so next year I’m going to make it happen.
NAT BASS – co-host of Nova’s The Babble podcast
I have a Chicago show on New Year’s Day, so I will be very well behaved for New Year’s this year. I love New Year’s, this one particularly I hope to start the year afresh, our family is making a few personal changes and I want to release some old habits and invite in some new positive ones to my everyday life.
VICTORIA LEE – model and David Jones ambassador
Plans for NY? I’m such a last minute New Year’s planner! Who knows, as long as I’m ringing it in with loved ones I’m happy.
New Year’s resolution? To embrace new challenges, live moments as they come and stop overthinking!
ROXY JACENKO – PR maven
We will be enjoying Dinner at Otto with my best friend Jess Ingham and our families – its low key but I am not really a go out and party kind of girl (anymore LOL) and my spare time is all about Pixie and Hunter as I have such long work hours.
New Year’s resolution? I need to make the most of having a gym in our new home and start using it instead of simply dusting it.
BEC JUDD – WAG and Chadstone ambassador
(New Year’s Eve) is our wedding anniversary … but we don’t have plans yet, we will probably be in bed by 10pm.
New Year’s resolution? Try to spend less time on my phone
TIM ROBARDS – Neighbours actor and former The Bachelor
Plans for NY? I’ll be in Mexico City with Anna’s family (Robards is married to Anna Heinrich).
New Year’s resolution? Just that it’s the best year yet. Maybe time for kids?
BRIDGET TORSTON – Bec and Bridge
Plans for NY? Up the coast at the family beach house, a G+T in hand.
I tend to avoid a New Year’s resolution and rather make little goals throughout the year. For example limit my screen time, exercise more and watch less reality television … all of the usual suspects.
JANE KENNEDY – Triple M radio host, Kennedy Molloy
New Year’s has been a very child-friendly, sparkler-themed, low-key affair for the past few years. I’ve struggled to stay awake to be honest but always make sure I see Richard Wilkins call in the New Year.
My NY resolution this year is to stay up until at least 1am. Baby steps.
APRIL ROSE PENGILLY – Neighbours actor
I haven’t locked in my plans yet, but I already have seven sparkly outfit options lined up. The outfit is the most important part!
It’s cheesy, but my resolution is to try to be “more present”. I’m always thinking of a million things at once and planning and organising, but I’d like to try and enjoy the moment a little more.
JESSIKA POWER – Married At First Sight
Plans for NY? I’d love to spend New Year’s with my friends and family at home, a yummy BBQ, few drinks and just being silly and having a laugh. I feel New Year’s can be over rated so I’d rather be at home in my comfy clothes, no make up and beating my mates in beer pong.
New Year’s resolution? Continue to grow within myself, find that self love I lost during my break up with dan and working on my new business venture.
JAMIE DORNAN – The Bachelorette contestant
Plans for New Year’s? Partying with my good mate from The Bachelorette, Timm Hanly.
New Year’s resolution? Involve myself in more charitable works.
DAVE HUGHES – comedian and Hit Network drive host
Don’t have any plans for New Year’s Eve. It is my wedding anniversary though. 13 years lucky this Dec 31.
My NY resolution every year is to quit worrying. I’m actually getting closer to my ultimate goal of not giving a flying f*ck about anything!
BEAU RYAN – Amazing Race co-host
We’ll be on holidays. I’ll probably spend all day in the pool, then get to bed early.
New Year’s resolution? To swear less. My mum will be proud.
RODGER CORSER – actor
In 2020 I’m definitely going to try to focus less on what I don’t have and more on what I do. I know this is not a new concept for many … but hey I’m a slow learner. As a freelancer, it’s easy to always be looking for the next thing and forget to enjoy the great things in your life happening now. BTW I said I’m going to “try”, actually being successful in another thing. Bring on the roaring 20’s!
NICOLE DA SILVA – actor
My NY resolution is to carve out more self-care time – digital detoxes, more yoga and time away so I can just switch off. Juggling work, parenting and other commitments has become all consuming this year, so I want to make sure I strike a balance in 2020.
