Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have hired a big-time Hollywood deal-maker to help them rake in even more money, it has been reported.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are believed to have been introduced to Adam Lilling, who was crowned one of Tinseltown’s top deal-makers, by their close friend Ellen DeGeneres, who has worked with the entrepreneur for years, Page Six reports.
The trio were seen mingling at DeGeneres’ surprise vow renewal to Portia de Rossi in Montecito, California, last week, and Harry was spotted introducing the money man to a fellow guest.
People have questioned how the Sussexes plan to make more money, and one industry expert who works with Mr Lilling told Page Six that he works at the “intersection of celebrity and venture investing,” adding: “He has worked with Ellen forever, as well as Matthew McConaughey and a bunch of A-listers.
“It’s very possible that Ellen introduced him to Harry and Meghan,” the expert said.
Mr Lilling and his business partner Amanda Groves were named among The Hollywood Reporter’s “Top deal-makers of 2022” in December, along with 43 other power players “who brokered big-ticket pacts, cultivated content and built brands from scratch amid the streaming wars.”
Mr Lilling told the publication: “Our mission is to take people who can affect change in the world and marry them with the top operators and entrepreneurs.
“We’re not really focused on their entertainment endeavours. We’re focused on connecting their profits, their passion and purpose with profit opportunities in the private equity landscape.”
THR reported their company, Plus Capital, “has set up more than 250 deals including Multiverse with Paul George and Terry Crews, Pachama with Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, Salesforce with Matthew McConaughey and Vegamour with Nicole Kidman.
Tellingly, both Mr Lilling and Ms Groves told the outlet that their favourite podcast of the year was Meghan’s Spotify show, Archetypes.
Mr Lilling has also been busy promoting the Sussexes on his social media over the past year.
In August, he tweeted after Serena Williams’ interview on the podcast, “Such a great podcast today. #Archetypes,” and also reposted a photo of Harry at the Masters of Scale summit in San Francisco, captioning it: “The happy ending he deserves.”
As Page Six has revealed, Harry and Meghan have a three-book, $US20 million ($A29 million) deal with Penguin Random House and are believed to be working on one book together, while the former Suits actress could also publish her own memoir.
They still have deals with Netflix and Spotify, although it’s not yet known whether Meghan will bring back Archetypes.
It was also reported that the Sussexes want to produce more “rom-com” entertainment after their Netflix docuseries.
Page Six has contacted reps of Mr Lilling and the Sussexes for comment.
