‘Amazing’ Meghan Markle a ‘fantastic’ collaborator

Elton John’s husband, David Furnish, has given an insight into the real Meghan Markle as a royal expert reveals why Kate Middleton didn’t bond with the American.

Elton John’s husband David Furnish, who is an executive producer on Meghan Markle’s new animated Netflix series Pearl, has praised the ex-royal for being an “amazing” leader.

“She’s a fantastic collaborator, amazing leader,” filmmaker Furnish said during an event in London.

“And we’re just very, very excited to be working with, you know, someone is as influential and as supportive as Netflix.”

In July, Meghan hinted that the new series will be based – at least in part – on her own childhood, by naming both the show and its title character Pearl, the origin meaning of her name.

The Duchess of Sussex announced details of her new project for the streaming giant, revealing that she will both “create and produce” the series, which focuses on a “12-year-old heroine who finds inspiration in influential women from history”.

“Like many girls her age, our heroine Pearl is on a journey of self-discovery as she tries to overcome life’s daily challenges,” Meghan said in a statement.

“I’m thrilled that Archewell Productions, partnered with the powerhouse platform of Netflix, and these incredible producers, will together bring you this new animated series, which celebrates extraordinary women throughout history,” she continued.

Meghan did not name any of the women who will be spotlighted in the series – however she did add that both she and Furnish are “eager to bring this special series to light”, concluding: “I am delighted we are able to announce it today.”

KATE ‘TOO TIRED’ TO GET TO KNOW MEGHAN

Meanwhile, a royal author has claimed that Kate Middleton “didn’t have the energy” to bond with Meghan Markle before the royal wedding.

Biographer Andrew Morton claimed that Kate was exhausted in the run up to the Sussexes’ royal wedding due to her being pregnant with third child, Prince Louis.

In his unauthorised biography, Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, Morton claims Kate being pregnant for the majority of Meghan’s wedding preparations got in the way of a friendship developing.

He said: “Kate and Meghan were neither sisters nor, unlike Fergie and Diana, friends before they joined the royal family.

“What is more, during the build-up to Meghan’s wedding, Kate was experiencing her third difficult pregnancy and was focused on her own welfare. She did not have much energy to bond with her new neighbour.

“When they sat together in the royal box to watch the Ladies’ Singles Final at Wimbledon in July 2018, the two women were still getting to know one another.”
