Adele’s relationship with Rich Paul is reportedly on the rocks – and that may be why she cancelled her Las Vegas residency.
According to the New York Daily News, the singer interrupted rehearsals to take calls from her boyfriend and was seen breaking down in tears.
An inside source said: “There’s trouble in paradise. That’s why she can’t perform.”
The American sports agent, 40, started dating Adele in early 2021 and went official on Instagram in September, The Sun reports.
Throughout their relationship, the couple had previously only been spotted out a handful of times.
It’s Adele’s first public relationship since her divorce from Simon Konecki was finalised in March 2021.
The 33-year-old singer devastated fans by cancelling her Las Vegas residency 24 hours before it was set to start.
She announced the cancellation of the three-month run of concerts at Caesars Palace last week in a tearful Instagram post.
A source previously claimed the star launched into a furious rant over a swimming pool stunt planned for the big-money shows.
The Brit was supposed to stand in the middle of a pool while belting out her hits – but likened the final design to an “old pond” and refused.
She has also now pulled out of her planned performance at the Brit Awards at London’s O2 Arena.
Awards bosses are scrambling to make alternative arrangements for the ceremony on February 8.
A source said yesterday: “Adele was confirmed to perform on the night, but has now pulled out, which has been a massive blow for the organisers.
“They are talking to her team to see if she can appear by videolink.
“It’s a massive headache but they want her involved in any way she will agree.
“They also now have to find someone to accept her awards, should she win. And several big names have already said no,” the source said.
“Names already mentioned include Sam Smith, and even Ed Sheeran and Dua Lipa – who are both up against Adele for awards – but they are all looking unlikely. They have also made an approach to Stormzy, in the hope that they can persuade him.”
