Sydney Sweeney ‘can’t act’ and ‘isn’t pretty’, claims top Hollywood exec

A top Hollywood producer with decades of experience in the industry has made some shocking remarks about actress Sydney Sweeney.

A top Hollywood producer has made some shocking remarks about actress Sydney Sweeney.

Carol Baum, who has worked in the industry for decades and whose movies include the iconic Father of the Bride, has claimed that the Hollywood starlet is “unwatchable” and alleged that she “isn’t pretty”.

“There’s an actress who everybody loves now – Sydney Sweeney,” she told a New York Times journalist at an industry event.

“I don’t get Sydney Sweeney. I was watching on the plane Sydney Sweeney’s movie because I wanted to watch it,” she said, referring to smash hit romcom about Anyone But You which was filmed in Australia.

“I wanted to know who she is and why everybody’s talking about her. I watched this unwatchable movie – sorry to people who love this movie – [this] romantic comedy where they hate each other,” she continued.

Referencing the producing class that she teaches at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Baum, who has produced movies for the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Michael Doulas, shared: “I said to my class, ‘Explain this girl to me. She’s not pretty, she can’t act. Why is she so hot?’ Nobody had an answer but then the question was asked, ‘Well if you could get your movie made because she was in it, would you do it?’

“I said, ‘Well that’s a really good question … that’s a very hard question to answer because we all want to get the movie made and who walks away from a green light? Nobody I know. Your job is to get the movie made.’”

Sweeney has enjoyed huge success in recent years. After acing her classes at school, she went on to star in HBO hit Euphoria before creating her own production company. She recently starred in and produced Immaculate, for which her performance in the horror flick received rave reviews.

Meanwhile, producer Baum hasn’t worked on a movie since 2008, and has worked on infamous box office flops including 1992’s A Stanger Among Us starring Julia Roberts and the much-maligned movie version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
