Katy Perry’s chilling nickname for Russell Brand has been revealed by British media personality, Piers Morgan.

And, according to a report in The Sun, Morgan later recalled how the shamed British comedian was “thrilled” by the not-so positive moniker.

Reflecting on an interview he did with Brand, Morgan told the comic that Perry had revealed she called him “Rasputin” - famed as “Russia’s greatest love machine”.

Rasputin, whose name is Russian for “debauched one”, was renowned for seducing women.

Morgan later told Brand his ex had given him the label, which the comedian was said to be “thrilled” about.

It comes as Perry broke her silence for the first time since Brand was accused of rape and sex assault.

The 38-year-old singer took to her Instagram account to share a photo of her new line of cowboy boots.

Perry posed up a storm on a scooter as she wore an oversized black fur coat, catsuit and electric blue shoes in her latest post.

The pop star captioned the image “scootin n bootin” and linked the social media activity to Katy Perry Collections.

Perry and Brand are believed to have met in 2009 and soon began dating in their whirlwind romance that saw them tie the knot in a small ceremony in India in 2010.

But the romance was short-lived, with the American singer and British comedian divorcing just 14 months later.

Brand has described the marriage as “chaotic”.

Meanwhile, Morgan also revealed he’d tried to interview Perry in 2013 about the breakdown of her relationship with Brand.

The star had said she wasn’t ready to talk yet, before adding: “Because you’ll get the truth out of me, and I’m just not ready to tell you the truth. In fact, I’m not sure I’m ready to admit the truth to myself.

“You Brits are all the same, so damn confident… Trouble is, I find that irresistible. I love Brits… Well, not all of them – not Rasputin, obviously.”

Perry has never spoken out about why the marriage ended.

Perry told Vogue earlier in the month: “I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can’t necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day.”

Morgan told how Brand was thrilled when he discovered the nickname.

Brand had said: “He was a pretty powerful bloke, he could manipulate folk with his eyes.

“I like Rasputin... he was all right, wasn’t he... a mad monk with magical, mystical powers, having it off with everyone, drinking and getting into fights.”

It comes as four women accused Brand of rape and sexual assault in the period between 2006 and 2013 - at the height of his fame.

The women spoke to British outlets, The Times, Sunday Times and Channel 4’s Dispatches, as part of a joint investigation into the allegations.

On Monday another woman came forward and alleged Brand stalked her down the street demanding sex.

Brand denies all of the allegations, insisting his sexual relationships were always consensual.

BRAND’S EMPIRE IN RUINS

The business empire of Russell Brand is in turmoil amid sexual assault allegations that a former UK culture secretary alleged could be the tip of the iceberg.

As YouTube demonetised Brand and the BBC and Channel 4 pulled content featuring the comedian, former MP Nadine Dorries said the women who came forward could be any of “almost a dozen” individuals to make allegations of sexual assault.

“I spoke to someone on Friday evening when I was first made aware this story was going to break on Sunday,” Ms Dorries said of the bombshell claims.

“The person who I was speaking to, who was somebody within the industry, said, ‘Well to be frank, it could have been one of any 10, it could have been one of almost a dozen stories and individuals’.”

As Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport from 2021 to 2022, Ms Dorries’ portfolio oversaw public broadcasting on BBC and Channel 4, where some of the allegations against Brand are claimed to have occurred between 2003 and 2013.

“So we do have a problem don’t we, with individuals who are fated to earn huge salaries, who have a sense of power, who do have power, they have power over the lives of individuals who work on those programs,” she added in an interview to Times Radio.

“There has to be some kind of framework around how people behave and how they’re grown into talent and how they behave once they get there.”

Dorries welcomed YouTube’s decision to block Brand from earning revenue from his channel, saying that the online video giant has “always been actually the most responsible compared to other online providers”.

YouTube announced the suspension “following serious allegations against the creator, who vehemently denies any claims of wrongdoing and says any sexual encounters were fully consensual.

Four women accused Brand of sexual assault between 2006 and 2013, with a fifth coming forward later with a separate claim dating from 2003. None of Brand’s accusers have been publicly identified.

Russell Brand in jeopardy of ‘losing everything’ if pursued by law enforcement

BBC director-general Tim Davie said the industry needs to be “vigilant” amid the Brand allegations, telling staff they should keep improving their process in the wake of the scandal.

“You look back and this industry has definitely faced significant issues with regard to a deep power imbalance in certain places, between so-called talent, presenters, and others working on shows, there’s no doubt about that,” he said during a staff meeting, according to The Daily Mail.

While Brand has not spoken publicly since first addressing the claims on his YouTube channel, the British actor liked a cryptic tweet about former BBC and ITV presenter Phillip Schofield, who resigned after admitting to an “unwise but not illegal” relationship with a younger colleague.
