Meghan Markle debuts new line of dog treats on the same day as Trooping the Colour

Monarchists furious someone would dog their beloved royals have unleashed on the influencer who posted about Meghan Markle’s pup treats during Trooping the Colour.

Princess Kate to make first public appearance after major cancer update

Prince Harry’s celebrity friend who debuted Meghan Markle’s line of dog treats during the King’s birthday parade has copped the ire of furious royalists.

Just hours before the parade stepped off at the weekend, Argentinian polo player and actor Ignacio “Nacho” Figueras gave the world a sneak peek of the canine snacks on his Instagram stories.

Trooping the Colour – a spectacular military parade to honour King Charles’ birthday – is one of the most important events on the royal calendar.

The event was doubly significant given Princess Kate’s 11th hour decision to join the festivities despite her ongoing cancer battle.

Royal watchers vented their displeasure on Figueras’ latest Instagram post, which was unrelated to the dog biscuits.

While the minor celebrity is luckily to ordinarily get 50 comments on a post, his latest has attracted almost 1000 – and most of the are far from complimentary.

“What a tasteless gesture to publish content with (Harry and Meghan) products on the day Kate returns to public life!” one person wrote.

“Why did you let her use you to attack a woman fighting cancer?” asked another.

“Did you have to get up in the middle of the night to post about the raspberry jam and dog biscuits! Your post didn’t work out as your best buddies wanted it to,” observed yet another commenter.

Royal watchers were abuzz with excitement as Princess Catherine, who has not made a public appearance since December, attended the event.

The King himself also continues to battle cancer and so was forced to forgo his usual position on horseback during the event.

Figueras also revealed Meghan has formulated a new flavour of jam – branching out from strawberry to raspberry.

The items will go on sale at an undisclosed date in the future through the Duchess’ luxury lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard.

Earlier this year, Meghan gifted jars of the strawberry jam to 50 social media influencers including Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner.

This time she seems to have been a little more discerning, with the raspberry jam bottle hand labelled as being just one of two.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were snubbed from the King’s Trooping the Colour parade celebrations this year, not receiving an invite to join the monarch on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

As a royal with deep military ties, who also served in Afghanistan, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told The Sun, Prince Harry would reflect on the day with “regret”.

“I think when it comes to military matters Harry has always taken an interest,” he said.

“I think that he does unquestionably view the way the break has occurred with the Royal Family.

“Which, as I say in my opinion, is the fault of the Sussexes.

“We know they wanted an apology from the Royal Family for the way they were treated when they were senior working members of it.

“They certainly won’t get that. But I do think there will be a certain amount of regret.

“The military has been a very important part of his life, and I would have thought it only natural that he would have had a feeling of some regret [not being at Trooping the Colour].”

He said he thought his wife Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle would care less than him, and probably did not watch it at all.

The couple remained in their home in Montecito in California as the parade took place.

“I think Meghan would be indifferent to a ceremony like Trooping the Colour quite frankly,” Mr Fitzwilliams said.

“I have no idea whether she would or wouldn’t actually watch it, but I don’t think it would mean a great deal to her.

“If it had done, she would have managed to carve a position within the Royal Family where she could have been of use.”

The couple have attended the event in years gone by before they left the Royal Family through the dramatic Megxit separation, which also saw them give up their responsibilities and their home at Frogmore Cottage as members of the Royal household.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have pursued a number of lawsuits since Megxit in 2020.

The younger son of King Charles III took legal action after the British government told him in 2020 that he would no longer be given the “same degree” of publicly funded protection when he is in the UK.

This month, he won the right to appeal the decision to downgrade his personal security when he visits Britain, according to a judge’s ruling.

The High Court in London ruled in February that the government had acted lawfully, but judge David Lean said in an order dated May 23 that Harry could challenge the decision at the Court of Appeal.

Harry, a former British army captain who served two tours of duty in Afghanistan, told a hearing in December that security concerns were preventing visits back to Britain.

“The UK is my home. The UK is central to the heritage of my children,” he said in a written statement read out by his lawyers.

“That cannot happen if it’s not possible to keep them safe.

“I cannot put my wife in danger like that and, given my experiences in life, I am reluctant to unnecessarily put myself in harm’s way too.”

Harry’s mother Princess Diana was killed in a high-speed car crash in Paris in 1997 as she tried to escape paparazzi photographers.
