Royal book translator says names were there ‘in black and white’

The woman who translated the royal book that named King Charles and Kate Middleton has made a shocking allegation.

The translator of the Dutch version of a shocking new royal book has insisted that she was handed a manuscript that included the names of the royals involved in the Archie race row.

In “Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival,” Omid Scobie wrote that Meghan Markle named two people who talked about her son’s complexion in private letters she exchanged with King Charles III circa May 2021.

While those people were meant to remain anonymous, the Dutch version of the book revealed their identities to be King Charles and Kate Middleton.

Mr Scobie blamed a “translation error”, however, now the woman behind the translation has made a shocking claim.

Saskia Peeters told MailOnline she did not add the names to the Dutch version of the book, because they were already there.

“The names of the royals were there in black and white. I did not add them,” they told MailOnline. “I just did what I was paid to do and that was translate the book from English into Dutch.”

Despite her insistence, Mr. Scobie told Newsnight it was not for him to apologise because the fault did not lie with him.

“The buck doesn’t stop with me because there are irresponsible people in this country who’ve broken the law and repeated names that should never have been repeated, should never have been named,” he said.

“The book I edited and signed off on did not have names in it.”

Mr. Scobie’s publisher, Xander Uitgevers, scrambled to pull copies of the Dutch language edition of the book from shelves after the error was reaveled.

“An error occurred in the Dutch translation and is currently being rectified,” the publisher’s managing director, Anke Roelen, said in a statement on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Mr. Scobie also appeared on television in the Netherlands to deny he included the names of the alleged “royal racists” in any edition of his bombshell book.

“There’s never been a version that I’ve produced that has names in it,” he told the RTL Boulevard show. “The book’s available in a number of languages and unfortunately I can’t speak Dutch, so I haven’t seen the copy for myself, so if there have been any translation errors I’m sure the publisher’s got it under control.”
